Pros: Great processor, did not buy it from newegg but my father works at intel and got one when they first came out for free. if you need it for work then definitely worth the money but if its just for gaming and other simple things just get the quad core 3.0 ghz its 1000 dollars cheaper

Cons: none,

5 out of 5 eggsProcessor is Epic Win!

Pros: Massive capability, easily overclockable. I didn't buy mine through newegg, but I absolutely love this processor. I've got mine running at approximately 4.5GHz, with 8GB of Kingston DDR2 RAM, 3 x 8800 Ultra's, and a über Thermaltake 1500W PSU. Combine that with two 30 inch Dell Ultrasharp widescreens, 3.5TB of hard drive space, and liquid cooling, and my friends, you've got one hell of a computer. Easily runs Crysis at it's highest settings. Anywho...I'm getting offtrack.

Not ready to make the i7 jump? Go with this processor. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!

Cons: Expensive!! Only problem with this one.

5 out of 5 eggsextreme

Pros: Fast fast fast. I have had two of these for almost 3 years.

Cons: None, you get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: I am tired of seeing people complaining about this cpu and other products that do not even own them. Some of us want and need the best. If you are looking at this money is not your main concern. So if you do not own this cpu or another product please do not post a review since it’s only your opinion not a review.
The Core i7’s and Xeon 5000 series are finally out and they would be the way to go now.

5 out of 5 eggsYou get what you pay for

Pros: Fast, Stable, cool

Cons: Price

Other Thoughts: I have two of these chips running in a skulltrail with 12mb ram, a radeon 4850 x2 and revolution 85+ 1050w. Has run totally stable and lightning fast since day one. also runs super cool with 2 zalmans, a hard drive fan, heat sink fan in a coolermaster cosmos. Has been most stable, cool running multitasking beast I've ever had. It has been able to handle the most intense data feeds that Ive never seen another processor handle.

Pros: Its a shame the price of these Extreme CPU's dont drop in price like other hardware does in 2 months?
Intel dont need to fleece the gaming community in the way they are now.
I went with AMD Black and get the same results, FAST, FAST, FAST and CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP

Cons: PRICE and GREED

5 out of 5 eggsGift

Pros: Fast, Thinking on buying another for the extra socket in mobo.

This cpu was also designed to be used for desktop, unlike all other LGA771 that are for servers use.

I Don't have any stats down for cpu, I am not planning to over clock though ;) I am planning on buying this for my friend once I save enough money also

Cons: Bad reviews from other people. Had initial problems with mother board like mobo reviews said, but the cpu is awesome.

This is a very very expensive cpu, but when you need the best, you need to get this :)

This takes a very large PSU and the UPS(Battery) will drain very very very, very, fast lol... I hope I have enough PSU power when I buy another one.

Other Thoughts: I got this as a gift from a good friend, but regardless, I was planning on getting this one anyways ;)

It was going to be either this cpu or the BX80574X5460A ; but don't get the BX80574E5420P to save a little >_> theres no active fan with that box only a passive HS.

MOBO: ASUS DSEB-D16/SAS.

If this is too expensive, look at this : BX80574E5420A : but Its not a desktop cpu (not really a problem though)...

It's not sensible to make reviews based on a price though when there is no competition, it should be based on performance and not on price. This is the best, so you can't place a price on the best. That's my opinion. Thanks for reading.

1 out of 5 eggsAre u kidding me?

Pros: Its fast, 12mb L2 cache

Cons: Price....You can buy an ENTIRE rig for the price of this thing....lol....You need a 771 socket MB, most of them suck compared to the x58's...

Other Thoughts: You can get an i7 920 for 280.00 shipped to your door/pair it up with an x58 mobo and slightly overclock it, and start to benchmark.....You will see that once its stable at 3.4 gigs, it will make this chip look like a CELERON and belive me I have th 920 and I would take QPI over FSB any day..Nuff Said.....

1 out of 5 eggsImpossible to recomend with so many good values on the market

Pros: Its the fastest chip available.

Cons: It costs more than five times as much as its own base chip in the same line, the i7 920 which it does not even beat 30% in terms of performance. Its a hefty premium to pay just to say you have the best, it offers very little real world price to performance value. All it offers is bragging rights to say that you paid for one chip, what you could build an entire decent rig for.

Other Thoughts: I will never understand the Intel Extreme line strategy. Make a chip that performs about 25% better in PC Mark from its base line chip (in this case the i7 920), then charge five and a half times as much for a 25% increase in performance. I know having the best might cost a premium, even double for a 25% incrase might not make sense, but its a pill the market might be able to swallow at about $600, but at over $1500 there is absoutely no reason you can give me to justify this price, other than simply having to have the best, and with the current economic conditions, that just is not good enough. Sorry, I demand value for my money spent.

5 out of 5 eggsPlease Read

Pros: Below

Cons: Below

Other Thoughts: Everyone who gives the board a low score is doing it because the board isn't what they want. This board runs as well as it well as it was built to there aren't problems with this board that I have seen so it doesn't deserve a low score just because its not what some people think it should be.
