Upgrade your system with the Core i5-760 and own the processor that speeds up when you do. These CPU powerhouses are designed to handle the intense compute and visualization workloads like video games and image editing applications. Core i5 processors allow you to multitask faster and unleash powerful media creation tools.

Best of all, the 8MB of Intel Smart Cache gives you blazing speeds you never realized were possible. Take advantage of Intel Turbo Boost technology which dynamically accelerates CPU performance to match your workload. The Integrated Memory Controller optimizes data bandwidth with support for two-channel DDR3 1066/1333 memory.

Smart Cache provides a higher-performance, more efficient cache subsystem while the Core microarchitecture accelerates overall system performance across your applications through energy efficiency. Add the Intel Core i5-760 to your system and you’ll never look back. Experience the convenience, versatility and raw power of Intel Core i5 processors today!

  • newegg Intel Core i5 Quad-core Processor With four processing cores, the multitasking monster Quad-Core Intel Core i5 processor delivers fourfold the performance on highly-threaded applications, taking your desktop PC experience into a completely new realm of mega power. The powerful processor delivers serious performance on the ultra-demanding games of today and tomorrow. The innovative 45nm quad-core technology optimizes thermal performance for reduced power consumption and noise.
  • newegg Intel Smart Cache Intel Smart Cache Technology dynamically allocates the shared cache to each processor core based on workload. This efficient, multi-core-optimized implementation increases the probability that each core can access data from faster, more efficient cache subsystem resulting in significantly reduced latency for frequently used data and improved performance.
  • newegg Intel Turbo Boost technology Intel Turbo Boost technology automatically allows processor cores to run faster than the base operating frequency if it's operating below power, current, and temperature specification limits, maximizing speed for demanding applications, dynamically accelerating performance to match your workload-more performance when you need it the most.
  • newegg Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology (EIST) EIST allows the system to dynamically adjust processor voltage and core frequency to decrease average power consumption and average heat production, which means of enabling very high performance while also meeting the power-conservation needs.
  • newegg Execute Disable Bit (EDB) Intel's Execute Disable Bit function can prevent certain classes of malicious "buffer overflow" attacks when combined with a supporting operating system. Execute Disable Bit allows the processor to classify areas in memory where application code can execute and where it cannot. When a malicious worm attempts to insert code in the buffer, the processor disables code execution, preventing damage or worm propagation.
  • newegg Intel Virtualization Technology (Intel VT) With Intel VT, one hardware platform functions as multiple "virtual" platforms. For business, Intel VT offers improved manageability, limiting downtime and maintaining worker productivity by isolating computing activities into separate partitions. In the home, Intel VT allows creating unique user environments for multiple family members using the same platform simultaneously.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic CPU

Pros: This CPU rocks. That's all there is to it. Running this for a couple of years now in a system used primarily for gaming. I'm actually gearing up a new system build that will most likely be based around an Ivy Bridge Core i7, but this CPU will continue to see use in some capacity, most likely for the makeshift recording studio I'm planning in my basement.

Cons: None at all.

Other Thoughts: Currently have this installed on an MSI P55-CD53 motherboard and cooling it with a Corsair H55 water cooler that I just installed on New Years Eve, upgraded from a Zalman CNPS9900MAX air cooler. Perfect combination.

5 out of 5 eggsBest chip i've ever used

Pros: This chip from the day that i popped it in, to the day that i upgraded from the stock heatsink, and finally to the day that im about to replace it; has never given me a single problem and it has ran without any hick ups. I have this thing overclocked to 4ghz @ 1.3v. It has handled everything i have thrown at it and i will miss the day i don't use it anymore.

Cons: This chip will not stop amazing me.

Other Thoughts: Gigapyte p55-usb3

5 out of 5 eggsnice proc

Pros: price to power ratio is (or was) good
handles anything i'm doing pretty well.

Cons: does not support hyper threading, but this is not a big issue for me

Other Thoughts: in its two years in a (nearly) always on implementation it has given me no problems.

5 out of 5 eggsFast and cheap

Pros: For the price, this quad core is quite fast. Nowadays, for gaming, a quad core is a must have and this modest processor does the job (even at stock clock frequency). Handles as many tasks as I can throw at it and doesn't reach unstable temperatures.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I have not overclocked it due to restrictions on my motherboard, but other reviews have positive responses to its overclock ability.

5 out of 5 eggsNice and fast...in it's day.

Pros: Great CPU when I got it a year ago, and has performed flawlessly for a build that my daughter uses, but it's time has past, and there are much better CPU's available for the same or less money to put into better tech now.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: New tech becomes old tech, and the circle of life keeps turning.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This CPU is basically everything you need in order to build a PC that runs almost everything you throw at it. And aside from some people who may have had issues, i've noticed none thus far.

Highly recommended, combined with asus GTX-460 max settings on games such as skyrim at 1920x1080 (casual gamer here) with a secondary monitor running 1440x900.

Cons: hmmm...
i was afraid of static? er... none.

Other Thoughts: People who come on here ranting and raving about how the other manufacturer is better need to get a clue.

No one really cares.

Current system:
this processor
asus mobo
2x2 gb & 4gb ram (total 8 GB) clock 1600
lian li pck58w with 3x 140mm fans and 1x 120mm green l.e.d. (lol, r.icer rig)
corsair tx-650 psu
asus gtx-460

all stock clock and runs admirably.

5 out of 5 eggsZoom, zoom

Pros: Bought an 1156 motherboard just before the 1155s came out... sigh. Anyway, started with a i3-550, needed more muscle. This thing chews up anything thrown at it.

Good price point.

Cons: None
