Make the universe submit to your will. It doesn't matter if it's the newest video game or multiple spreadsheets, documents and database files, Intel’s Dual-core Pentium processor can manage it with ease. The two cores run at 1.6GHz each and share 1MB of L2 cache.
Two cores means true multi-tasking and multi-threading. Tasks or threads get their own core, no more sharing one core and set of clock cycles. This lets you turn your system into the ultimate home entertainment center PC. One core can play a DVD on the TV, the second sends audio to the kids in another room with no lags or stutters. All this is made easier with Intel’s Digital Media Boost.

The little processor that could
- Pros: Incredible value. Good for multitasking and gaming. Really good overclocker. Runs very cool. Heatsink and fan included are good. It's a Conroe.
- Cons: Heatsink is aluminum and not copper. That's the closest to a con I can come up with.
- Other Thoughts: I bought this, a case and an ASRock 4CoreDual-VSTA to fix my daughter's 4 yr old Dell with a dead motherboard. I was REALLY impressed with the performance this processor. I read the TH benchmarks and saw the OCing potential from the reviews here. Before I even installed windows, I overclocked this to 2.2ghz (38% increase) without touching the voltage at all. The idle temp went up only one degree from 29 to 30, and running that cool is also great. It benchmarked as good or better than the 4400+ I paid ~7x as much for just 16 months ago. 3dmark06 cpu score for the E2140 @2.2ghz was 1829. I suspect I can get a much faster overclock with this processor without even stressing it. It really wants to fly. Set it free.
Incredible Overclocker
- Pros: Cheap, cool, fast, great overclocker.
- Cons: None
- Other Thoughts: Overclocked to 2.7ghz and lowered the voltage from 1.35v to 1.22v at the same time. Perfectly stable, and tops out at around 55C on the stock cooler using these settings.

I know it's better
- Pros: It's a decent value, even cheaper now than when I bought it. Great budget cpu to get you going and upgrade later down ther road. I put this in a GIGABYTE GA-73VM-S2 and modestly overclocked it to 2.0 Ghz right away. It works great.
- Cons: I know the E2140 is better, but I honestly can't tell any difference between this and my Pentium D 840 from 3 years ago. It just slightly surpasses the PD in the PC mark tests I did. But it only did that when overclocked to 2.0 Ghz. Don't get me wrong I still like it. I guess this isn't a con when you think about it; see other thoughts.
- Other Thoughts: I know I'm comparing it to an older processor, so I guess it's probably a pro that the E2140 can do the same thing at 2.0 Ghz that a PD 840 at 3.2 Ghz can do and the E2140 also consume less power and runs way cooler while doing it.
I wish i overclocked
- Pros: I was a little skepical buying a pentium dual core with such a low clock, but after booting up the first gmae, i realized this CPU, a graphics card, and 1GB of ram was awsome. i imagine it can be overclocked very far, but i didnt want to blow it, and this computer was for a customer.
- Cons: i wish it was cheaper/faster, but w/e, its not for me.
- Other Thoughts: this is great for casual gaming, email, or anything. It is also fast enough for Vista.
nice overclocking
- Pros: amazing overcloking.. i have this baby running @ 2.8ghz with 25Cº. no voltage move at all.
- Cons: mmm... i wish i could make it work at 3.2ghz
- Other Thoughts: got it runnning on a msi p6n sli board
