5 out of 5 eggsgreat little CPU

Pros: put a better H/F on it, to over clock, got 3ghz no problem,
runs smooth and stable, stays cool @ 30c idle, 50c full load

Cons: the stock H/F is junk

Other Thoughts: surprised at how speedy this CPU is on XP pro

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: very good for surfing and light gaming on stock clock. It can handle a good OC as long as the mobo allows it.

Cons: not a wolfdale that OCs to 3.5 on air

Other Thoughts: I got the CPU to 2.9GHz

Case: Antec 902
MOBO: Asus P5N73-AM

5 out of 5 eggsA fine CPU

Pros: A fine CPU for boards that don't support 45nm Core CPU's. Works like a charm. It's actually not too slow, either. I mean, light gaming? If you have a decent video card, it's fine for even new games. Not long ago, you couldn't even get a CPU this powerful.

Cons: Only cons is that it's a slightly older tech, so slightly slower CPU than a comparable 45nm part.

Other Thoughts: I stopped playing the "Latest and greatest" game awhile ago. This CPU is fine.

However, any new board will support 45nm processors, so if you're building a new system you should probably just go with one of them. I replaced a Pentium-D on a slightly older machine and now I can run 64-bit windows and utilize all 4GB of RAM.

4 out of 5 eggsBang for your bucks

Pros: Cheap, cheap, cheap! This thing will overclock as far as the rest of your hardware permits. Runs COOL, even when OC'd >3.0ghz

Cons: Reviewers had me scared because of the bad comments about slow fsb/clock speed and low cache size.

Other Thoughts: You get what you pay for, and then some. I can play most of my games with all the eye candy I want. Of course it's slower than the higher end CPU's. Most of that expensive stuff is for bragging rights/future proofing anyway.

5 out of 5 eggs6months USE

Pros: Its cheap....lets face it....spend more money and you can buy a better/faster processor.

At 2.2GHz This works fine on my media center (decoding blu-ray and 1080p MKV files).

Cons: First comes to mind would be its, slow clock speed, slow FSB, and lack of quad core.....but thats unfair! I bought this for under eighty dollars.

Other Thoughts: Most reveiwers always ask for more features then what they paid for. Its unfair and illogical.

If you rated this at 4 eggs just because its "slow".....then buy a faster processor.

Light gaming, internet browsing, email, word proc and light photo edit.....works just as fast as my quadcore.

Final thoughts: home server, media center, family PC, light user PC are all great fits for this Proc!

5 out of 5 eggsgreat Core 2 Duo product

Pros: in spite of many reviews in error here... Allendale CPUs are not 130watt Pentium 4 D's... this product is a low cost Conroe with reduced cache and slower front side bus... at stock clock these are about 9% slower than a E6600 but have a lot of headroom... this is a major performance CPU when overclocked to 3ghz plus which is readily do-able on air cooling

Cons: none, it's a cool running, Core 2 Duo CPU and great bang for the buck product

Other Thoughts: reviews need to have their facts straight

5 out of 5 eggsGreat performance for the price!

Pros: Excellent performance for the price. The PC it's in is mostly for Web browsing and word processing, but the processor is more than capable enough to run Fallout 3 at respectable graphics settings.

Cons: Absolutely none. It fits very nicely in the Intel family as a very wallet-friendly alternative to a Core 2 Duo.

Other Thoughts: You can't overclock it with many Intel motherboards, unfortunately.
