5 out of 5 eggsThis chip still gets the job done!

Pros: I purchased this chip to accompany an inexpensive build for my fiance. Her laptop saw the end of its days and she needed something for everyday e-mail and surfing. I picked up this chip for about $20 at the time on Newegg and installed it in a $50 ASRock motherboard and it has been chugging since late 2011. I have used a basic heatsink, but I would recommend a decent aftermarket piece as it still tends to get on the warm side. Otherwise, this is a great chip for the price I paid at the time.

Cons: Absolutely none; it was well worth the $20.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA. Don't waste your time.

Pros: None.

Cons: Bought this for my Dad's computer I built a few years ago as an upgrade. Had him order it but I didn't get over to install until the next month. Guess what? Spent the whole day trying to get this to run. Won't boot up at all. Checked BIOS and everything. Put old P4 2.8GHz back in, starts up fine. Can't return now since it's past 30 days, so we are out $$ and an afternoon of trying to get it to run.

1 out of 5 eggstotal junk X2

Pros: None:

Cons: This is the 2nd faulty processor from the egg! The first one was glitchy and when tested with Astra & Hot CPU Tester failed consitantly. RMA'ed first processor, received the second one after over a week of waiting. As soon as I took it out of the packaging there was noticable discoloration of the gold contact point on about a 1/4 of the processor. Put it in anyway & guess what??! It too has posted the same miserable problems.......... Now the egg states it is "past it's warranty period. Egg you should be ashamed, don't know where these came from but definitely they were NOT very well "certified" or even inspected. Come on obviously discolored & tarnished contact points on up to a quarter of the processor! First sign of possible trouble right there, just from a visual inspection! Bafoons! I'm only out $30.00 after shipping, but likely will never do business here again and recomend no one else I know do.

Other Thoughts: These should have been advertised as "hit or miss" processors at best, NOT recertified!

4 out of 5 eggsThat's what I'm Tolkien about!

Pros: This is a great buy. This Pentium 4 is a strong attempt at integrating Hyper-Threading Technology (which sounds a lot cooler than it actually is) and a single core processor. For 18 dollars (US) you can get a strong LGA 775 processor that will serve most media center purposes. This could not be a brain for a contemporary media server or contemporary gaming rig, but the Pentium 4 has great overclocking potential (within reason, this is a refurb!!) and at 65W you wont be taxing your power supply to badly, or turning your computer case into a sauna. Purely based on the track record of this product, I was more than happy to make this the CPU for my $120 media center build so I can watch my Lord of the Rings DVDs on my HD Radeon 5670!!!!

Cons: The fact that this product is refurbished should make one you reconsider overclocking it to any great extent. At 3.4 GHz, it is unlikely that this CPU will need much overclocking to keep up with the demands of today's programs. The problem with buying refurbished products is that you do not know how much stress the product was under before you purchase it.

Other Thoughts: As of now the processor is on it's way to me. I hope all goes well with this build, but if it doesn't, it was only $18.00.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU Worked great!

Pros: Fantastic Processor for an old classic nostalgia rig.
Ran Rainbow Six Rogue Spear + Urban Ops with the high rez pack add-on just fine.

gave me 60 frames easily with even the lowest end GPU.

Cons: None that i can think of

Other Thoughts: I bought this with an Open Box policy mobo and it seems the mother board was faulty and never got to play much with it.

So my advise is BUY this CPU, But Only buy it with a Good mobo so you wont be sad.

5 out of 5 eggslegendary

Pros: Bought the 3.0 GHz version all the way back in 2007. I still use this on my main desktop, and will likely do so for another two or three years.

Cons: Beware, this CPU might not be able to handle 1080p video playback. I've gotten away with up to 720p on most video files. (There is a way to get around this by using a GPU if you have one and certain programs)

Other Thoughts: If you just need a computer to do some average photo editing, surfing the web, or having a cheap yet reliable back-up computer, this is an awesome CPU.

5 out of 5 eggsHonestly, Quiet Good!

Pros: Great processor. Runs great at Advertised speeds and runs quiet cool on a Zalman CNPS 7500 as well.

Cons: None. I knew when buying it that it was older technology, so I can't complain about that.

Other Thoughts: I was very uneasy about buying a processor that was re-certified, however, this product turned out great. I have not yet tried overclocking it, however, I just may today.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks well

Pros: Price/Performance. Hyperthreading.

Cons: Old Netburst technology.

Other Thoughts: I got this for an older system I have and it works just fine. It came in a box, wrapped in foam with no plastic/ESD sleeve. Mine had no scratches/signs of misuse, it actually looks as good as new. For this price I am very happy that I could get this older system running as good as its going to.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks good, no problems

Pros: Little processor works great for surfing, videos, and email. Cheap enough.

Cons: none.

Other Thoughts: Using with a ASRock G31M-S R2.0 motherboard with 2 gig of Adata ram and sata drive. Cheap build that works perfect.
