5 out of 5 eggsNice

Pros: Under 200 bucks
4 cores
Intel reliability.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Im one of those that has a hard time paying over 150 bucks for any processor so when this was onsale I snapped it up to replace an old core i3 and couldnt be happier.

4 out of 5 eggsRidiculous value for a budget build

Pros: The processor itself is incredible for the price. I didn't feel like shelling out an extra $30 for a 3570K so I got this, and I don't regret it a bit. The performance is very good and the integrated graphics are, surprisingly, not bad at all for anything other than 3D gaming.

Cons: The stock Intel heatsink is, as others have said, godawful. It's annoying to install and I have concerns about its functionality. The processor idles at 30 degrees C but I don't know how well it'll hold up at higher load. A nitpick, though, since you can pick up a Hyper 212+ for $30 and not end up a poor sap like me.

Other Thoughts: The heatsink shouldn't discourage a purchase.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic

Pros: Runs flawlessly, haven't had usage go over 10% since I've had it, running it with my gaming rig on stock cooler and seems to be working perfect with cool temps.

Cons: Not an i7, but fantastic for the price you pay. Not much difference other than the Cache.

3 out of 5 eggsPretty good.

Pros: This CPU delivers what it says.
There isn't much more to say.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: if you want to play games on Ultra, spend the extra $100+ for the i7.

5 out of 5 eggsBudget i5

Pros: Very fast little quad core. I mainly play games so I can't justify an i7 (And my budget can't either) since HT isn't used well there. I have played Minecraft and Skyrim on it so far and they run great. I only mention Minecraft because of it being Java and using a lot of CPU (on one core of course).

I have a Zaman 7500 (AC5 paste) on it running 27C idle and around 30C while gaming with 100% fan speed and probably around 50% CPU usage.

I got this over the i5 3350P (no GPU) because of the safety net. If I need to RMA my video card I have at least something to run on.

Cons: Might be a little pricey for the slowest i5 Ivy Bridge.

Other Thoughts: I went on for months debating over AMD and Intel. I wanted to give AMD a shot for my main computer but they seem to have fallen off the market this past year. I ultimately chose Intel because the upgrade path is much better right now.

Specs:
Antec 1200
ASRock Z77 Extreme4
Gigabyte GTX 660
8GB DDR3 1600

5 out of 5 eggsGreat CPU

Pros: -Quad core
-Stays under 36C even with full load with Cooler Master 212 Evo
-Ivy Bridge

Cons: -Not overclockable, only to 3.3 GHz

Other Thoughts: I was debating whether or not to get this or the unlocked one, so I went with this. If you don't need to overclock, this is the best bang for the buck. You save a lot of money and it still performs VERY well!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat processor

Pros: Phenomenal product. I was debating with myself on AMD or Intel. I'm glad I chose Intel. Processor runs at about 37-38c with stock fan. Integrated graphics, quad core (I switched from Core 2 duo 1.86Ghz). Huge leap in processing power.

Cons: None.
