SAMSUNG 840 Series MZ-7TD120BW 2.5" 120GB SATA III Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)

Pros: Bought this to revive my 6 year old Dell E1405. Works better than expected. Start up is never greater than 20 or 30 seconds. Comes alive out of sleep mode in 2 seconds. I didn't need any software for clean windows install; just installed drive and had windows disk ready to install with no problems. It's light, no noise and no heat. Perfect replacement / upgrade that I needed.

Cons: None

Pros: it is fast, light, stays very cool and the slim design makes it easy to place anywhere

Cons: the power and sata ports are close enough together that one of my cords wouldn't fit and i had to fuss with it

Other Thoughts: still a good ssd

Pros: Good value, good specs and overall performance.

Cons: Software, esp. 'Magician', very rough. User interface for OS tuning is most convoluted, confusing interface I've ever run across. Can't tell whether 'activating' 'enabling' 'deactivating' 'disabling' etc. and instructions contradict each other. Also, some settings (like fetch-related) don't do anything. Other settings don't stay set; topped off by an 'Enable' button that seems to reverse everything you just did (or not?). Must be seen to be believed. Worst-designed GUI ever (even though, aesthetically, it doesn't *look* bad).

Other Thoughts: Once you get your OS settings where you want them (and verify that outside of the Magician software), do not so much as *breathe* on Samsung Magician.

Pros: Good SSD. It does what it says on the tin. The utility software that comes with it is nice. There's tests to evaulate the performance and check to make sure it's optimized the way you want. There's also utility to help you move things from another HDD. Although since I built new, I didn't need that.

Cons: I only wish I would have got one with more space. I tried moving what I can to the HDD, but some software fights you on this. I'm already over half the space used on the 120GB.

Other Thoughts: Not specific to the SSD, but since I got it to only put the OS and soe programs on it for performance, I thought I would share this. If you want to move outlook files to you HDD, do not get Outlook 2013 if you want to use IMAP and Windows 7 as the OS. So far I've not found a way to do it unless I upgrade to Win8 (ugh) or use POP3.

Pros: Put it an old Gateway laptop, it runs so much faster now. This is a great SSD.

Cons: None.

Pros: perception is relative but this seems even faster than the corsair neutrino that I had in there prior to this one

Other Thoughts: Got the SSD yesterday, Brought my work Laptop home to complete the clone of my HDD. Took about an hour and 10 minutes to transfer 70 Gigs of Data. When I plugged in the SSD, it wouldn't boot, said BootMGR was missing, ended up figuring out that the info from the partition on the HDD wasn't copied over to the partition on the SSD. Plugged both Drives into my Rig at home and copied that data manually. Plugged the SSD back into my laptop and WHAMO, Super fast SSD Speeds at the ready. Glad I made the switch. Super fast load times and my computer doesn't feel "laggy" and bogged down anymore.

Other Thoughts: Replaced my stock 5400 HD and lost some GB but well worth the money , I noticed a difference while i was installing windows , along with the drivers.

Other Thoughts: I don't know much about the specifics of SSDs and their speeds (compared to my knowledge of other parts anyways), but I am very happy with this. Hard to go wrong with a 120GB SSD for $100

I had to restart Dota 2 in the middle of a game due to a bug, I closed it, opened it, and reconnected back to my game in less than 10 seconds. People in game couldn't believe it!

Also loads BF3 about 100x faster than my laptop.

Pros: This is my first SSD. I used it in a brand new gaming system I built. So far it seems to work well. I have not done specific speed testing, but it very snappy and I have not had any issues.
