5 out of 5 eggsGood Buy

This review is from: Crucial 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1066 (PC3 8500) Memory for Apple Model CT2K4G3S1067M

Pros: Cheaper to buy here than the Apple store

Cons: I didn't order them earlier

Other Thoughts: I upgraded my 2010 Macbook pro with this ram and it works fine. Remember, when you upgrade an older model Macbook, you need ram that is compatible with Apple. Otherwise your going to waste your time and money.

5 out of 5 eggsSo nice, I bought it twice.

This review is from: Crucial 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1066 (PC3 8500) Memory for Apple Model CT2K4G3S1067M

Pros: I bought another pair of 8GB to upgrade my father's late 2009 iMac. Runs fast, price is cheap, couldn't ask for more.

Cons: None yet.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat RAM

This review is from: Crucial 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1066 (PC3 8500) Memory for Apple Model CT2K4G3S1067M

Pros: I purchased this kit to upgrade an early 2009 iMac that I had obtained from my work. They thought it was broken, so I was given it for free. Turns out, it just had bad ram. I ended up using this 8GB kit, and the iMac chimed to life! I've been running the newest version of OSX and the 8GB kit makes everything nice and zippy. Great ram for the price!

Cons: None yet.

Other Thoughts: Newegg's "free" DHL global mail shipping is terrible. Pay the $5 for UPS, you won't regret it.

5 out of 5 eggsMacbook 5,1 Unibody

This review is from: Crucial 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1066 (PC3 8500) Memory for Apple Model CT2K4G3S1067M

Pros: Worked right away. All 8GB are being recognized and utilized by the computer.

Unfortunately I haven't owned it long enough to comment on reliability.

Cons: Nothing so far

Other Thoughts: I have read that some people were having trouble with their Macbook Unibody's not recognizing all 8GBs of memory.

My computer is a Late 2008 Macbook 5,1, 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, Unibody OS X 10.9.5 with the latest firmware update. So far no issues.

2 out of 5 eggsBad Set, or Bad Item?

This review is from: Crucial 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1066 (PC3 8500) Memory for Apple Model CT2K4G3S1067M

Pros: Supposedly provides more memory

Cons: Crashes frequently

Other Thoughts: I think I must have gotten a bad set of RAM I don't think it's working properly. RAM keeps crashing and I'm not doing anything unusual. I used to have 4 GB of RAM and never used more than 3 GB, now that I have 8 GB, it's always almost completely used up and keeps crashing. The product has good reviews, so I'm looking into getting a replacement, or a refund if it's not actually compatible with my 2009 17" MacBook Pro, although the Crucial site said it is.

2 out of 5 eggsDidn't work as I hoped

This review is from: Crucial 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1066 (PC3 8500) Memory for Apple Model CT2K4G3S1067M

Pros: It's made by Crucial

Cons: I bought this pair of modules for my mothers MacBook -- hoping that it would speed things up. The RAM does not make any difference in speeds, and I am down $80.

5 out of 5 eggs

This review is from: Crucial 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1066 (PC3 8500) Memory for Apple Model CT2K4G3S1067M

Pros: Enables my mid-2010 MacBook Pro to be able to operate with multiple applications running. And it goes smoothly alongside a ssd. No issues installing; an easy plug and play product.

Cons: Zero.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for Unibody MacBook 2.26GHz

This review is from: Crucial 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1066 (PC3 8500) Memory for Apple Model CT2K4G3S1067M

Pros: Perfect fit and no errors on start up. OS X 10.9 uses it with great efficiency! Call me a fanboy if you want to: Mavericks is the best Apple OS yet.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Should have bought it earlier!

5 out of 5 eggsSpeed Up your Late 2008 Aluminum MacBook!

This review is from: Crucial 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1066 (PC3 8500) Memory for Apple Model CT2K4G3S1067M

Pros: Since updating to OS 10.9, my Macbook - the original late 2008 aluminum version - was lagging like crazy. Constant SPODs. It was usable, but annoying. Simply scrolling down a webpage caused unbearable lag. After installing 8GB of this memory into it, it runs like an entirely new system. Menus pop open immediately, and switching between tasks is significantly improved. Obviously not as fast as a new system, but it is a tremendous improvement.

Cons: Many sites including the official Apple site still show this Macbook being limited to 4gb. A firmware update quite some time ago allows 8gb. Also, pay attention to the screws on the bottom of this particular Macbook - there are actually three different sizes (there are three long screws, and many short ones - and the short ones have two unique widths.) Obviously, care must be taken that they go back in the right place.

Other Thoughts: I knew the performance would improve with an upgrade in RAM, but I was skeptical as to how much. I now regret not upgrading sooner - it really is a great improvement. Installation took about 10 minutes - most of that was looking for a screwdriver small enough for those little screws.
