1 out of 5 eggsa white flash and then darkness forever.

Pros: not work at all, better than half-working.

Cons: everything else.

Other Thoughts: on a Thinkpad edge.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks in C7 Chromebook

Pros: Works.

Cons: Doesn't not work.

Other Thoughts: I've yet to run memtest86 on it (which may be easier said than done on a Chromebook) but the C7 recognizes the RAM.

5 out of 5 eggsIt Is RAM, and It Works

Pros: Quality RAM.

Works in both my Samsung i7 and i5 laptops.

Cons: None, it is either works or it doesn't. Mine does; so will yours.

Other Thoughts: RAM reviews should go like either works or is DOA. If it is "DOA," make sure that you checked your system's RAM compatibility, before you slam the product.

5 out of 5 eggsQuality RAM that Works

Pros: This single stick of 8 gigs of RAM works perfectly for my laptop update.

My ASUS X54L only has one memory slot for RAM so being able to upgrade from 4 to 8 gigs was important to me.

This Patriot RAM worked fine right out of the box, was physically installed easily, and the system recognized it instantly without me having to do anything.

Also the packing on this RAM was simple and not a massive pile of plastic with sharp corners and glued together edges.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: For the price, I feel I got a good value and would recommend this product.

1 out of 5 eggsBad first experience

Pros: Worked great for 1 day

Cons: Worked great for 1 day

Other Thoughts: I was impressed with the delivery time 3 days, i did not need it urgently.. Worked great the first day in use, when darkness fell i placed my computer into sleep mode and placed it under my bed. In the afternoon i took it out to use and was hit by a blue screen i thought "MC afee piece of ..." so i went and got a Norton AV disc to do a spyware check, The AV was unable to work properly so i thought oh wow this is bad.. so i went into the factory recovery partition and i got errors too ran ram test and they passed, took out the new ram stick and everything ran smoothly on a 2 gb HP ram stick i had laying around long story short "arrived, good first day, bsod, unnecessary pc reimage due to believing malware caused the bsod ... now the ram is collecting dust because i never will want to experience another type troubling return process and will not try to return it.

5 out of 5 eggsThey're the Same

Pros: It's cheap and works for me in Zotac id61 mini-PC. No problems seen here. The main point is the price! there was a rebate when I bought it, making it the cheapest option for what I wanted. I have a feeling most all 1333 DDR3 SODIMM single-boards are more or lesss the same performance.. CAS latency here was the same as others

Cons: None to mention

Other Thoughts: I like the design better than the G.Skill version since there aren't such high resistors sticking up at the top of the board... It seems lower-profile by a tiny bit than the G.Skill single chip 8GB SODIMM...

3 out of 5 eggsUh oh!

Pros: Purchased with 2-day shipping as I needed it quickly. One stick works great, and was larger and faster than the stick it replaced.

Cons: Second stick caused a bluescreen after about an hour of configuration and Windows updates.
Memtest86+ 4.0a initially passed, but after leaving it on all night, it showed that the second stick started producing errors after extended use.

It's apparent that others are having similar problems with poor QC. I normally wouldn't mind, but my client did need his computer back this weekend. He's going to have to make do with 8GB until the replacement second stick gets in to upgrade him back to 16GB (he is in video editing and needed to make edits from the road).

Other Thoughts: Thanks to Newegg's great RMA process, I'll have the replacement in before the mail-in rebate postmark date.

Cons: my first order had one faulty stick, Newegg RMA service is great !

Other Thoughts: memtest 86 passed .. But memtest 86+ failed ..must do more testing ..

5 out of 5 eggsSlightly iffy on Macs.

Pros: Cheap 8gb, works well.

Cons: Some possible compatibility issues, make sure to check before buying, especially on macs.

Other Thoughts: Bought 2x 8gb dimms for my gf's mid 2010 MacBook pro. Could not get it to boot with both stocks no matter what I tried. Later did some research to find that the 2010 model isn't compatible with DDR 1600. Oddly enough, it does work just fine with an original 2gb stick of DDR 1066, which makes me think that the lower memory dimm just forces the 8gb stick to run at a lower frequency.

Had to send back the 2nd stick, and newegg's rma process is fairly painless. I tried the other dimm in my hp touch smart tm2 which already uses DDR 1600 but I couldn't get it t book in any configuration, not sure what the deal is there.

Guess the gf will have to live with 10gb for now. Didn't take any eggs off due to compatibility issues - pretty sure that's not patriot's fault, and the dimm we kept is working great.

5 out of 5 eggsHappy in my acer ao722 netbook

Pros: Even super saver shipping was overnight :)

Works great in my "beastly" little Acer aspire Ao722 netbook. This is the one with the AMD C-50 processor.

cat /proc/meminfo
MemTotal: 7908480 kB

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Was going to solder in a another socket into netbook (pads are there), but this was easier path.

I run linux on it which works fine with / uses all of the memory. No idea if windows is crippled so it cannot see all the mem, but at least I can tell you the hardware works fine with this 8GB dimm. Also, no bios update was needed.
