4 out of 5 eggsMushkin Customer support == delightful

Pros: - price ($64 in Sept 2012 for 16GB)
- works in 2012 MacBook Pro 2.5GHz 13" and all other Macs that require low voltage. I am currently using this in a 2013 iMac i7 3.5GHz -- working with a set of Crucial 16GB low voltage memory to give me a STABLE 32GB (there are many reports of 32GB causing problems)
- customer service was excellent (see below)

Cons: - memory was defective from the start and I eventually had to have the memory replaced through Mushkin so I docked an egg

Other Thoughts: Soon after I installed the memory I had sporadic rebooting of my MacBook which I eventually traced back to memory. This computer saw light use and nothing that processor intensive, so it was a rare occurrence. However, the rebooting eventually got worse and happened during attempted backups of the hard drive, so in Feb 2014 I decided to contact Mushkin and get a replacement. I explained the situation and received a prompt reply from Mushkin requesting my proof of purchase. Once I sent that, they sent return instructions. I shipped the memory via 2-day Priority Mail on a Tuesday afternoon, they received the memory on Thursday and shipped the replacement memory out on Friday via FEDEX ground. I received the replacement memory the following Tuesday morning. Put the new memory through the paces and ran memtest on it and have had no issues. I have since put it in a 2013 iMac and this memory is playing well with a set of Crucial low voltage DIMMs to give me 32GB RAM in that iMac (I moved the iMac's 8GB to the lightly used MacBook.) Overall, I was very pleased with Mushkin's customer service as I found them extremely responsive and direct. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase again if the price is right.

2 out of 5 eggsMushkin Customer support == painful

Pros: When the memory works, it works

Cons: Memory failed, as memory does. Trying to RMA and deal with Mushkin RMA support is almost as painful as Western Digital.

Other Thoughts: With this level of pain re: RMA from Mushkin, it's not worth buying Mushkin again in the future.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat memory

5 out of 5 eggsRAM

Pros: It works.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: It's in a Dell XPS 15 L502x. BIOS has no clock options, but CPU-Z and lshw report it running at rated speeds.

1 out of 5 eggsdo not buy for 2012 13" macbook pro

Pros: none

Cons: will crash when running videos

Other Thoughts: Very frustrated with this RAM. Kept crashing my 13" mid 2012 MacBook Pro base model (i5), particularly when playing any sort of website video. Now I have to deal with Mushkin as NewEgg will not issue an RMA because I'm just a few days past 30 days... Do yourself a favor and AVOID MUSHKIN. And, next time I WILL BUY ELSEWHERE

5 out of 5 eggsexcellent upgrade for Asus N56VZ

Pros: I purchased 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) of Corsair Vengeance (CMSX16GX3M2A1600C10) which was incompatible with an Asus N56VZ-DS71. I installed the Corsair in a Macbook Pro where it worked fine and purchased this Mushkin memory for the Asus N56VZ-DS71. The machine posted and came up with 16 GB of DDR3 SO-DIMM RAM at 1600 Mhz (as reported by dmidecode under Ubuntu).

Cons: none.

Other Thoughts: the Asus N56VZ-DS71 is picky about memory. Some report the Corsair modules work but despite trying three different BIOS revisions they did not. This Mushkin memory works very well in an Asus N56VZ-DS71 with BIOS version version: N56VZ.215 dated 11/02/2012.

5 out of 5 eggsMac Mini (2012)

Pros: Installed in my 2012 Mac Mini and it works perfectly.

Low Voltage

One of the few modules with the specs of 1.35V (instead of 1.5V). While many high voltage modules do run correctly in lower voltage chipsets, the new Ivy Bridge Mac's are designed for 1.35V RAM and wanted to purchase RAM designed to run at this voltage.

Ran 1 day of memtest in single user mode and not a single error.

Cons: None; worked as expected
