5 out of 5 eggsExtreme

Pros: I ordered 2 of these from another company for the company i work for (surveymonkey) to use in their Win Server 2008 R2 Enterprise. After setting them up in Raid0. Server install took a few minutes and boot times are reduced by 22 seconds from a previous setup of 6 SAS drives @15000RPM in Raid10. Speeds benchmarked at about 1.31Gb/s for read and write for single drive. This is by far the fastest drive available. Single drive configuration registered 7.8 on WEI. Price is not an issue because this is specifically designed for corporations. Very easy RAID setup

Cons: Speed. After initial install of the single drive, I was slightly disappointed that i was only getting 1.5gb/s for a raid 0 configiuration.
Heat. These was placed in a regular tower and I swear it could heat up a house in winter in under 10 minutes. I have decided to place an extra squirrel cage fan inside.

Other Thoughts: On dual drives got the 7.9 for WEI. Regular consumers should not even look at this card

5 out of 5 eggsI am not an owner

Pros: I agree with Penewab2007, however i would take it further. i would love to see reviews limited to only confirmed owners. why do i want a review from someone that doesn't own the product. let's leave that to YouTube.

Cons: n/a

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It is the future of data storage. Combing the best of both worlds (SLC SSD with a PCIe interface), the read and write times are much, much faster than a regular platter HDD. The reason behind the price is the fact that SLC NAND flash memory costs about $11/GB, so that would add up to ~$5600 in just memory chips!

The prices on products like these will decrease in the future as the manufacturing process improves and becomes more efficient, but until then, we need to learn to appreciate such products.

Cons: None, it's a technological marvel!

Other Thoughts: People who only look at the price, and have no understanding of the research and development that goes into a product like that, should not be reviewing this item.

4 out of 5 eggsFastest Consumer SSD

Pros: This is the fastest consumer grade SSD on the market right now. Given that it uses SLC, it is also one of the most reliable and longest lasting SSDs as well.

Cons: Price, this is priced absolutely for enthusiasts ONLY! No one that does not need this needs to comment. The fact that this is 512GB of SLC SSD memory, and a PCI-E SSD with riser and removable NAND sticks is why it is priced at $9,599. May be a problem in SLI/Crossfire configurations.

Other Thoughts: Great SSD. I have seen this in action at a few lan parties where one or two (at most) enthusiasts will have one of these in their extreme builds. Load times for games are always fast. Don't even get me started on how long a Windows Install will go.

5 out of 5 eggsThis is the reason!

Pros: This is the reason why something needs to be done with Newegg reviews. OCZ obviously has a state-of-the-art peice of technology here, one that not too many have invested in, but here we have two reviews with absolutely nothing to offer in terms of helping decide the efficacy of buying this product. One has a "I bet it's fast" quip, and the other mocking ".00004 vs. 0.00005 boot times,"????????. In the end, these reviews get carried away, and buyers DO MAKE THEIR decision based on them. I do, though I try to weed through the nonsense. So, what to do? Well, you have staff approving these things, why not have them AX worthless commentary. Heecckk I would love to forego this, if you get rid of the other two!! OR, give the Eggxperts, or a few of them, reign, they'll clean it up, and have proven to be responsible representatives of the NE community. I just think it's becoming sad, and doing some injustice to manufacturers. I have no proclivity for OCZ either, I've bought many a OCZ product.

Cons: I've loved many an items, but have gotten some clunkers too. The point is, let's make the NE reviews something one could put some cred too, not just allow mental defectives to write mindless banter because they can. (Again, I would gladly donte this, to remove the others).

Other Thoughts: All in all, NE always rules. I am sure though OCZ would love to have original sample reviews here for such a high end hardware. But really, haing to weed through the nonesense is getting monotonous, and I be its costing some makers sales (and NE in te long run.) Of course OCZ could send me one of these and I'd be happy to give it a nice litle "Owner" write up! ;) But I've mad emy point, PEace,

1 out of 5 eggsboots in .000005 secound

Pros: title

Cons: i wanted more of a .000004 boot up but thats just me

Manufacturer Response:

Hello, it is our opinion that such a quick boot time deserves a 5 star rating, although that does seem a bit faster than usual. Thank you
