5 out of 5 eggsOnly 4GB to get the Gaming job done!

Pros: -gaming compatibility
-ability to run at 1600mhz

Cons: -defaults to 1066mhz at first use, but you can easily change in the BIOS.

Other Thoughts: Does an awesome job with any game i throw at it. I only have 4GB and I have no problems what so ever. Alt-tabbing out of a game happens in a snap and is so much smoother compared to my default factory model of 2GB ram i had.

4 out of 5 eggsOk i guess

Pros: This stuff works well, but after updating the BIOS on my ASUS Crosshair board to version 3027...this stuff no longer was recognized, no post. I had to replace these with a stick from a different manufacturer. But while they were in the system they were solid.

Cons: I now have 2 sticks of this stuff I cant use...

Other Thoughts: Probly shoulda spent the extra cash and bought Corsair...

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

Thank you for your G.Skill purchase and review. Please contact the G.Skill technical support team with hardware specifications and they can help you configure settings in BIOS. This memory is above standard, so the ASUS Crosshair motherboard will surely need proper settings for optimal performance. The memory is not plug and play, so the system can be unstable without inputting basic DRAM specifications. Once you contact the support team, they will make sure the memory is working fast and stable in your computer. Should you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to let us know.

Thank you

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Ram

Pros: Clocks very well, Quality Feel. G.Skill

Cons: Heat spreaders are nice, but in some situations may be too tall.

Other Thoughts: I swear by these modules. G.Skill makes quite good ram modules, these are among the best of the best. Never had a single problem (knock on wood) with the tridents.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Buy

Pros: Works as advertised. This is the second system I have built using G.Skill RAM and will continue to use them for my systems. I like them because of the price but also because I have yet to have any problems. I have also built a system for a friend using this RAM and it was just as good.

Cons: None. I haven't tried OC'ing with this computer but for everyday use it hasn't let me down.

Other Thoughts: I've used G.Skill mainly for the price difference between it and the other more well known brands like Corsair and the like. Not saying it's any better, it just fits my budget.

5 out of 5 eggsBuy this RAM

Pros: Great RAM. Very reliable and easy to get to their spec ratings. Even able to run them slightly undervolted. First set (see Con) I was even able to OC to even tighter timings and a little boost in Mhz. Heat sinks on these are great and have tons of surface area to dissapate heat.

Cons: So back in late 2009 I bought a set and was able to run these at 7-7-7-21 @1640mhz. A few weeks ago I saw that newegg brought these back and I decided to buy a 2nd set to bring my total to 8GB. Turns out the set I got a couple years back are rated 8-8-8-21 on the stick and the new ones are (as advertised) 8-8-8-24. Not really a CON but worth mentioning for those who lucked out and got faster RAM when these were first on sale. Now I had to reduce my timings back to spec. I know 4 sticks of RAM can put extra stress on memory controller so I may try it again with a little higher voltage once my new PSU comes in. The heat sinks are pretty tall; which may or may not matter depending on your mobo/cpu cooler.

Other Thoughts: Like I said, great reliable RAM with a WEI score of 7.6 on default clocks. Back in 10/09 I paid $99, and now they are less than 1/2 the price! So clearly an easy choice if you are looking for C8@1600 RAM

5 out of 5 eggsGreat as always

Pros: Great RAM at a great price. Booted up the first time, albeit with the default (conservative) settings. I went into the BIOS, put in the specs from the box, works like a champ.

Cons: None at all.

Other Thoughts: I don't plan on overclocking these, so this review won't be a "full" review. But I hope this helps anyone who has any doubt about getting this RAM.

5 out of 5 eggsruns great... always has

Pros: This is great ram... I actually set it up a little low... but I got it where I want it... 7-7-7-20 and 1.5v dual channel on 2200 mhz bus. I had a set already on this machine and added 4 gig more for a total of 8 gig... the computer never missed a beat... booted right up.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: 1055T 3.0/3.4 ghz, 8 gig of trident ram, radeon 5830 at 900/1100, psu Rosewill 950 extreme, 1TB Westerndigital hd.
LG blueray, Samsung P2570 monitor.

5 out of 5 eggsgarbage !!!

Pros: not made for intel

Runs at 7-9-7-21 @1600 with amd 955 and msi 870-g45,xfx h

Cons: nothing .. i was being sarcastic .. so sick of people giving ram an egg or two off because they have to go into bios and set the ram to 1600.. you will always have to tweek things in bios .. ive built upwards of 400 high and gaming machines in the last 5 years and not once ...yes once !! have timings and speed ever been default to what is rated or what i want (at least on the super fast ram).. why? its for your own good ,fast ram always defaults to lower than rated so you can safely boot your computer for the first time .. you should be grateful not complain

and people who give ram a bad score because it didnt get to them on time .. thats not the rams fault..

Other Thoughts: Runs at 7-9-7-21 @1600 with amd 955 and msi 870-g45,xfx hd6850 gpu

play every game maxed out now. black ops. bullet storm, crysis.. etc etc
