5 out of 5 eggsGreat memory, compatible with my QNAP TS-670 Pro!

Pros: I bought this RAM to upgrade the 2Gb that comes in the QNAP TS-670 Pro. It works perfectly and I have no complain. Lifetime warranty is also super

Cons: None so far.

5 out of 5 eggsFlawless RAM from a great company.

Pros: Fast (...very, very fast).
Rock-solid reliable.
"Plug and play" easy.

Cons: At it's current price, price is a con...but that same con applies to all high-end RAM kits for several months running now.

Beyond that, no other cons.

Other Thoughts: I paid $110 on NewEgg for this 16gb kit in November 2013...an amazing deal for top-of-the-line ram like this.

I'm running it in a HP Elitebook 8470w along with an Intel i7-3840QM CPU and a 960 GB Crucial M500 SSD...it's been a data-crunching beast and done absolutely everything I've wanted it to do.

I don't know of a better laptop ram out there, and I certainly don't know of a better company out there...g skill and their ram has been great to me.

1 out of 5 eggsIncompatible with Dell M6800

Pros: Packaging was easy to open.

Cons: The RAM was not compatible with Dell Precision Mobile Workstation M6800 (BIOS Version A7). I tried RAM from a different manufacturer with the same specifications as this one, and the system booted just fine.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

We are sorry to hear you had such issues. To determine whether it is a bad module causing problems or compatibility, test one module at a time to see if one works properly. If neither module works, it may be a compatibility issue with the CL9 timings. Most Dell computers can only support DDR3-1600 CL11. Try a memory model like the G.Skill F3-1600C11D-16GRSL and the system should run great. For any further questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

Thank you

2 out of 5 eggsBought 4, One Failed

Pros: 1600 @ CAS 9

Cons: 25% failure rate based on four modules
not cheap
they're 9-9-9-28 instead of 9-9-9-24

Subjective: although they're 'low voltage', they run real hot to the touch. This will cause problems as there are no fans for the memory modules. I hope you live in an air conditioned environment when using this laptop: hello Antarctica!!

Other Thoughts: For whatever reason, RAM pricing has increased from the past few years. These modules should have been half the current price by now. I'm sure there's another price-fix going on... JK ;-)

My laptop started locking up and overheating in the memory module area (Lenovo W540). Lenovo built-in memory checker (short and long) did not find problem, but Memtest86 did.

Module died two months after purchase so no help from NewEgg. Had no choice, but to engage G.SKILL for RMA.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

We are sorry to hear one module has failed. All G.Skill memory modules are backed by a lifetime warranty; complete the RMA procedure online, send the memory to us, and we can have a new one out to you immediately. A new kit should work much better. For Lenovo laptops, CL11 is recommended, so if you would like to use CL9, make sure you have the latest BIOS for optimal performance. With regards to timings, 9-9-9-28 is the correct value for SO-DIMMs. It is different compared to desktop SDRAM. For any further questions or conerns, please feel free to contact us directly.

Thank you

1 out of 5 eggsBrand is flaky

Pros: Packaging was easy to open.

Cons: Bought the RAM for a Dell Precision Mobile Workstation laptop. It satisfied all constraints given by Dell's manual and Intel's chipset specifications.

After installing the RAM, the system would not boot, even with the latest version of BIOS and regardless of the combination of sticks used.

I bought a competing product (from Kingston) with the same specifications: 2 x 8GB, DDR3-1600, 9-9-9 Timing, 1.35V. The system booted just fine.

I had heard rumors about these kinds of issues with G.SKILL RAM, but I had just dismissed them as rumors. I'm now a believer.

Other Thoughts: I only had the time to install the RAM 30 days after the purchase date, so I can't return it. Even if I tried to sell it locally, I'd have to help the buyer install it just to make sure the same problem doesn't happen again. This is more of a hassle than I expected.

Manufacturer Response:

.
Dear Customer

We can surely assist you with this problem. Dell specifications state the mobile workstation is capable of DDR3-1600 8GB modules, but it does not mention it can support CL9 timings. The standard is CL11, so this is the guaranteed spec that is compatible. If a different kit of CL9 worked, this memory kit should work as well. You can test one module at a time to determine whether a stick may be bad causing problems. If that is the case, send the memory in for RMA exchange and a new kit should work flawlessly. For any further questions or concerns, feel free to contact us directly.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat!

Pros: These sticks of RAMs are just what I needed. I have bought G.Skill since newegg started carrying them. I haven't had 1 issue with them and I've bought about 60 sticks ranging from DDR2 to DDR3. The price and performance has always been great for this brand and stability has been great in any motherboard brand I have used and even in MACs. Highly recommend this.

Cons: None at all.

Other Thoughts: These were bought for a macbook pro 13 non retina and they just fit right in. No issues whatsoever and no compatibility issue at all. Great speed and price for 16GB.

5 out of 5 eggsFast and Good Value

Pros: Fast, Easy, and Cheap.

Cons: Removing the DIMMS from the packaging was a struggle.

Other Thoughts: In a week I ordered this memory from Newegg and installed in a Lenovo W530 Core i7-3630 QM 3.40 GHz with Quadro K2000M, replacing factory install 8GB RAM with 32GB RAM.

This laptop has Windows 7 x64 Pro, with the purpose to run SolidWorks 2014.

5 out of 5 eggsAMAZING

Pros: This product was easy to install as most ram is. I installed this product and a SSD at the same time and after performing a pcmark 7 benchmark i went from 3600 to around 5200. So i would recommend anyone to do both of these upgrades.

Cons: A little pricy but find them when they are on sell to get 10-15% off.
