5 out of 5 eggsWorks!

Pros: After replacing the stock Toshiba HDD in an old black MacBook with this drive, I thought to replace my own Macbook Pro with this. Bought two of these to replace the stock Fijitsu drive and the optical drive. Been working well. No problems.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Bought three of these. So far, all three have been working just fine.

5 out of 5 eggsHush, can you hear it? Sooo quiet

Pros: What can I say, it's quiet, I could hear no noise once installed in my MacBook Pro. For the 6 months I have used the drive I have had no issues. I have just today, sold the laptop and will definitely be buying another to upgrade it's replacement. I am delighted to see it's come down in price. The only way it could be improved would be to make it a 7200rpm drive

Cons: It's not free and it's not a 7200rpm. Great drive!

Other Thoughts: Packing could have been better, it seems Newegg has had some difficulty deciding how best to pack hard drives for safe travel

5 out of 5 eggsSeems like a great new HD for my Unibody Mac, alternative to WDBook Pro

Pros: Looking through all the reviews online for a good, quality drive for a laptop is exhausting. I finally dropped some coin on the WD 320GB Scorpio Black 7200RPM drive for my Unibody MBP and was irritated at just how loud it was in a quiet room. I'm really sensitive to noise (must have been that launch X360 that made me this way), and I didn't think the speed was worth the constant humming. When I went back to researching after RMA'ing the WD, I found Seagates that seem to fail constantly, WD's that don't seem supported fully by OSX and all kinds of in-between. The HD that came with my MBP is a Fujitsu, is dead silent and never gets hot, so I looked at this drive. I'm loving it so far. It's a touch louder (anything would be) but for a 500GB drive that's pretty quick, it seems like I made the right choice. No humming or clicking, just a slight low fan sound that's barely audible when it's writing to disk. I don't really notice it at all when it's idle. Great drive so far.

Cons: No cons. The price was right and it does what I want, stays quietly and cool.

Other Thoughts: Read the other reviews, this drive is a winner. Don't be scared because it's not a popular "name brand" drive.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Fits macbook pro 1st gen perfectly, easy to install, no problems with the dirve. Very quite no noise from it what so ever.

Cons: Can feel the vibration when installed on macbook pro.

Other Thoughts: Very cheap replaceable drive if you need to get rid of the 120/160 gig hard drive for the macbook pro.

5 out of 5 eggsSo far, so good.

Pros: Installed Snow Leopard on a Macbook (mid 2007) just fine. Newegg even give me a $10 credit after the price dropped the very next day I bought it. It was a performance boost to the 4200rpm Toshiba in their originally (obviously).

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I had read many reviews about Western Digital Blue Scorpios spinning down way too often due to a conflict with Snow Leopard's power management. So, I opted to buy this Fujitsu instead. No beach balls of death so far!

5 out of 5 eggsSpeed

Pros: It works. I have had the drive for a little over a month and it has been running with out a hich.

Cons: 5400 RPM and not 7200 RPM

Other Thoughts: I am in the process of transferring data from a faster drive to this one. The average write speed to this drive is around 10 MBs. That speed is fine for every day use. Not very good when it comes to using it as a network storage device.

1 out of 5 eggsFailed

Pros: Quiet. Good Price.

Cons: Failed after 6 months (diagnosed as failed by Toshiba service center). Fortunately I was able to pull data from it prior to complete failure.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome hard drive

Pros: Wow, this drive is quiet and boy does it have very low vibration. 500 GB is plenty of space.

Cons: Very slightly noticeable performance hit compared to competitors.

Other Thoughts: I used this drive to replace a 320 GB 7200 RPM drive in one system, and then I used it to replace a competitor's 500 GB drive in another system. Both were of the thin and light ULV kind, so the 7200 RPM drive added a lot of vibration. The other system shipped with a competitor's drive in there, but it ended up having a weird error where the desktop background was gone, the icons were gone, and the taskbar was reset to the Windows 7 defaults. It restored after a reboot, but I didn't want to risk it, so I ended up replacing that drive also. In both cases, it reduced vibration a LOT (yes, even with the competitor's 500 GB 5400 RPM drive). When I use the systems, if feels almost as if there are no moving parts at all in the system. This definitely impressed me, and I would definitely recommend this drive to anyone.

4 out of 5 eggsMacBook Pro with Room to Move

Pros: My first drive was DOA. It sounded like a ping pong in a coffee cup. Would not load OS X. My replacement drive (thanks New Egg) came about a week later and it's working like a charm. Very, very quiet drive. Perfect for a laptop. I've never used Fujitsu before but the price was right so I went for it.

Cons: First HD was DOA. Had to have a replacement sent and I had to pay to have it shipped back.
