Died 1 month after the warrenty ended
- Pros: It was a good drive when it worked...
- Cons: I had this drive for a year and one month, and then it died, lost all my data backup. It came with a one year warranty, lot of help that did.
Worth every Penny.
- Pros: Plenty of storage space: 64MB is used by it's pre-installed drivers and such, but that hardly scratches the surface with 120GB behind it's belt.
Universal usage: Runs on XP, Vista, Even OS X. Won't run on 98, but that's only a minor inconvenience. Wonderful price: even after the 2-year warranty and taxes, I believe it's worth every penny.
- Cons: Transfer cable length: The cable packaged with the item is too short. My external would be dangling from the top of my tower if I used it. Thankfully, finding a longer cable was no hard fix.
Unknown issues: For some reason, It does not like my home PC. My father and I belive it might be because we only have USB 1.1 ports, but it could very well be the fact that the external drive comes in FAT32 format and our internal drives are NTFS format.
- Other Thoughts: This drive deserves the rating I gave it because the short cable is not a horrible problem, and the fact that my home computer is just out of date. I have heard that dropping the drive will kill it, and i've been super careful. it has only sustained a 1-inch drop at most, and it works fine. the shape is akward. the top surface is glossy and gets smudged/scratched easily. the power light is bright, but not completely distracting in a dark room.
Not worth it
- Pros: Worked flawlessly...
- Cons: ...until one day I plugged it in to my Boss's computer, and it started doing the "click" thing, and I found that by flipping the drive upside down the drive worked. Made me think that it was simply a bad cord/contact issue with the USB cord. But I've tried others. No go.
