5 out of 5 eggsGood drive with a good track record

Pros: This drive has been everywhere, all over the world, suitcases, laptop bags, on desks sustained a few minor drops. No damage, cracks, bad sectors, crashes or lost files. USB Powered ! ( can be a pro or con but in this case I count it as a pro)

Cons: None really.

Other Thoughts: Sad to say WD quality has gone down in 4 years on their drives. I still look at Black Caviars but still keep an eye on Seagate's offerings. For me a drives performance AND warranty offer go a LONG way. With larger capacity I lean more to performance and robustness as I want my data to be there. Now that I wrote "dependable" watch it fail lol, but I don't think it will any time soon; no so with the internal desktops though I'm afraid. I had brand new drive for 3 hours and it formatted itself rought out of existance, which results in a "that isn't typical performance" error response. Older drives seem to be better, but for newer high-density I have no clue why quality seems to have dropped off except for the reason the companies are using digital crowbars and toilet plungers to fit and compress more and more data on platters now days. Perhaps they are still spinning the "proverbial" mud and sand out of them since the flood, look forard to advancement in technology and stability. I've got a good drive here so I hope others are seeing the same with this and hopefully future developments.

4 out of 5 eggsDid What I Wanted

Pros: Saved all my data and never crashed. Can't really ask for much else. I was very pleased with how long it lasted in.

Cons: After a while the wire got to be a bit flimsy and I'd have to try to replug the hard drive into my computer a few times. Scary to say the least, but it still worked, and this was after a couple years of already owning this drive and buying another one.

Other Thoughts: Good! Glad it ran its course.

1 out of 5 eggsWoW what a bad product!!!

Pros: Compact!

Cons: It took less then 3 mo for this thing to lose all my data and stop working! I will never buy another WD product nor will I buy from NE again! No HD, No data, lost money, and no more Newegg! Thanks for nothing!

Other Thoughts: Buy some thing else, some where else. or you lose your money!

2 out of 5 eggsGood while it lasted

Pros: Compact, very portable and at reasonable price.

Cons: After less than 2 month of very light use. it stopped being recognized by any PC. Its light blinking continuously with no means of accessing the data on the 2.5" drive.

Other Thoughts: RMA process from WD was easy, but I had to pay shipping to return it to WD for replacement. Always had good luck with WD 3.5 " internal hard drives.

2 out of 5 eggsIt was good

Pros: Sleek, Fast, Very portable

Cons: Just decided to stop working on me one day after 2 months of use along with all my data.

Other Thoughts: I used this as a second hard disc for my macbook, but now its gone. Not good for the long run.

2 out of 5 eggsgood while it lasts...

Pros: - Tiny form factor
- No power adapter required
- very very quiet

Cons: - FAILED after 3 months of very infrequent use.
- single interface (a minor issue)

Other Thoughts: Purchased as a backup HD for a OS X time machine system -- sad that my backup drive failed before the real drive...

2 out of 5 eggslasted just over one year

Pros: worked well while it lasted

Cons: This drive lasted me just over one year and six months. So the guarantee has expired, and it's useless. That to me just isn't long enough.

5 out of 5 eggsAlot of space for little green.

Pros: This drive is great, ive had it for about 2 months now and its been through hell and back but its still running perfectly! For a 5400RPM drive its not slow at all as long as your not trying to run a game off of it.

Cons: None so far!

Other Thoughts: The cord that comes with the drive is a tad short, only about 8 inches or so? if you need any kind of distance on it, even to sit it on top of your tower id suggest just getting a longer cord, theyre so cheap!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little drive

Pros: Great little drive, small and compact, quiet.

Cons: I wish it came with a case.

Other Thoughts: I purchased an aftermarket case for portable GPS devices and it fits perfectly in it.

Great external drive

5 out of 5 eggs
Great form factor, build quality seems high, capacity is good for a 2.5" drive.

5 out of 5 eggs
It works great. Comes with FAT32 formatting, but you can change that of course. Lots of space, & small size.
