5 out of 5 eggsBought in 2011, still going strong

Pros: I bought this drive in 2011 because of the energy/power it saves and it was a great deal. It's still going strong as my secondary data drive with an SSD for OS

Cons: Now I wish it was 1TB, but 500gb was a lot for 2011!

5 out of 5 eggsDurable Drive

Pros: Has lasted over 3 years
Reasonably Priced at time of purchase
Great for secondary storage

Cons: None I can think of

Other Thoughts: You get what you order. This HDD has lasted my over 3 years and still runs strong. I had used this as my primary storage unit until i upgraded to SSD recently. I now have this in RAID 0 as a secondary storage and still runs strong. After countless times removing, moving, formatting, and swapping this HDD, it still runs. Got my moneys worth.

1 out of 5 eggsWd green wd5000ads

Pros: Worked good for three years.

Cons: Died after three years of very moderate use.

Other Thoughts: I don't know what brand to recommend these days. I work on computers and I am seeing a lot of dead hard drives come in to my shop these days of all brands. I think the quality has gone out the door for hard drives these days.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This runs as my secondary hard drive and I store all of my important files on it to make reformatting the OS drive easier. As such, I expected a lot of reliability from this drive, and I got it! It still runs great after 4 years. My computer operates on average 7 hours each day.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I will swear by HD Caviar drives until they give me a good reason not to.

5 out of 5 eggsReliable backup drive

Pros: No issues in 3.5 years as a backup drive in a couple desktops over that time. Daily use in my primary machine in whatever form that's been over that time.

Cons: Not the fastest drive, but no complaints.

Other Thoughts: Couldn't be happier with my experience, especially considering how inexpensive it was in 2010.

5 out of 5 eggsgood hard drive

Pros: pretty good speed considering it's a green hard drive, to date it's lasted 3+ years with heavy usage (been filled, emptied, refilled some 50 times in its life) and still kickin' real well.

Cons: a little small for the money at time of purchase (prices are way higher now...)

Other Thoughts: tough little drive, took a couple tumbles unfortunately during several computer re-builds as i switched cases and motherboards a few times, but still works just fine.
