5 out of 5 eggsDoes what it's supposed to do.

Pros: No problems with it, very fast considering it's a HDD. Gets 5.9 Windows rating.

Cons: Don't know if it's the HDD or something with my Windows installation as it used to boot a lot faster, but Windows has been having semi-slow boots lately but nothing too bad.

Other Thoughts: For the price, get one.

5 out of 5 eggsAll 8 drives installed and running great

Pros: Uneventful installation. Performance as expected. Very quiet.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Watch out for drive sizes when building RAIDs. Although the shipped drives were all the same model numbers, the number of blocks varied slightly which caused issues when we swapped in a unit that had just a few less blocks. Technically we weren't short a few blocks, the drives that initially formed the RAID had a few extra. We made sure we used a calculated drive size that should fit in the future.

1 out of 5 eggs^^kr @p^^

Pros: - has Western Digital's name on it
- looks shiny and fit in the Cooler Master case properly
- BIOS recognized the drive as a WDxxx until it gave up talking to the m/b
- Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit installed on the Intel SSD after the WD was unplugged

Cons: - Never worked
- Clicking noises on spin-up attempts with all connections

Other Thoughts: Thank goodness I bought an Intel 510 SSD at the same time I bought this or else I'd be up a creek. WD CB's are the only type of mechanical hard drives I buy, but after this I'm going to have to reconsider my position.

Verified SATA-III ports working properly along with using different SATA-III cables. All failed to motivate this inferior drive into working. This drive is such junk that Newegg deactivated it. I'm glad they were proactive, I just wish they would have thought of it before I bought one. Let's see if Newegg steps up to the RMA plate and handles this appropriately,..

1 out of 5 eggsHDD died

Pros: NONE

Cons: This hard drive was sluggish from the beginning. It then died completely in less than 30 days. Do not purchase this drive. I bought a Seagate Barracuda XT locally and am well pleased now.

1 out of 5 eggsWD6402AAEX - two bad hard drives

Pros: none

Cons: I purchased two WD640GB SATA III hard drives. One hard drive was dead on arrival (DOA) and the other was so unstable that it couldn't be used. Both hard drives were RMA'd. Don't by this hard drive if you plan on running SATA III. I am using a ASUS P8P67 motherboard version 3.0

2 out of 5 eggsStutters during real-time sequential writes

Pros: Overall throughput seems high. Both drives I ordered together have worked fine with daily use for 2+ months.

Cons: I bought two drives for sequential writes of real-time data over a SATA3 connection. They both stutter during the writes at fairly consistent intervals, with audible drive noise. This happens with empty drives. The same write to my 32 MB buffer, 7200 rpm, SATA2 drives have no problems keeping up with the same data rate. This seems to happen regardless of how much is already written to the drive.

Both drives are going to go to an eSATA RAID 1 for backups..

5 out of 5 eggsHighly Recommend

Pros: Fast, stable & quiet. SATA 6.0gb/s & 64MB cache worth it!

Windows 7 installed & loads very fast.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I was looking for an HDD for my new build. I didn't want to pay SSD prices and am also waiting for them to become more stable. So I got this one and am glad that I did. I read on other reviews about issues with noise. Let me tell you - I have had none. Not a single click, beep or what have you. Get a quality case and you will be fine.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: lets see it looks nice and it probably works well lol

Cons: DOA and first time buying from newegg

Other Thoughts: I really hope this new hdd i ordered the veloci-raptor works when it gets here. Since i had a problem with HDD and couple other things when trying to purchase another hdd, i went ahead and bought a veloci-raptor and HOPEFULLY its not a DOA like the 1st one i ordered
