Pros: Inexpensive with free shipping

Cons: Defective. After 1 day of use the drive started to tick whenever I launched a new program on my laptop. Western Digital tech support advised returning it immediately as it "may fail at any moment". Wasted a whole day doing the OS install, Windows updates and program installation to find out the next day the drive was bad. Very disappointed

Other Thoughts: I expected more from Western Digital.

Pros: Have had this drive over 2 years and it has been flawless. I've been waiting for 1.5 or 2TB drives to come out so I can upgrade, but no luck so far (not 9.5mm drives that will fit in my tablet anyway!).

I highly recommend this drive, it has seen me through thick and thin with no hiccups whatsoever.

Cons: 1TB drive hit the market RIGHT after I purchased this thing....bummer! Wish I had waited, but that wasn't the drive's fault of course.

Pros: Good, quiet drive. WD warranty is good but - expect a hard drive to last at least 3 years, more like 5

Cons: started slowing down - sectors now failing all over

Other Thoughts: As density has grown reliability seems to suffer. 1 TB 5 inch drives seem OK, larger seem to fail too quickly. This was a laptop drive, I was dubious about the size when I got it - hope the replacement does better, but have no reason to expect that to be the case.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect upgrade for my Dell E5500

Pros: Super easy to upgrade ... using Acronis True Image WD Edition. No problems migrating my old 250GB drive with OS and apps to the new drive.

Cons: None. Works as it is supposed to.

Other Thoughts: Buy an external 2.5" SATA to USB 2.0 External Hard Drive/SSD Enclosure . Put the new drive in the enclosure, run True Image to clone your current hard drive, swap the drives, and you're done!

Pros: Large storage capacity.

Cons: I have never had luck with WD drives. This drive came in the Lenovo G770 that I purchased at Newegg in 7/11. Once again, a WD drive has failed me.

Pros: Big Storage Capacity for a laptop HDD

Cons: High Failure Rate (2 within 2 years)

Other Thoughts: Originally ordered in November 2010. First drive failed within 2 weeks after installation. Got an RMA from Western Digital, everything seemed fine for a while. Now in Sep 2012, the replacement drive is failing. This should not happen.
