Western Digital Scorpio Blue WD1600BPVT 160GB 5400 RPM RPM 8MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 2.5" Internal Notebook Hard Drive

Pros: Quiet. Has been operating continuously since I received it - using it as a replacement drive in an older netbook, which is functioning as a home server (storage, backup, and other minor services). It's been a champ.

Pros: This was a greatly priced drive.

Cons: I bought this for a customers computer and it worked great for 4 months then it failed no warning, no chance to back up just dead. WD has a messed up RMA system where you have to pay for postage to return your drive that failed within 4 months. WD need's to try and make customers happy by supplying a quality product and not charging you to send back their defective product.

Cons: Could not load OS with restore disks.
Tried 2 OS and continued to fail, always at the same point.

Other Thoughts: Had to pay return shipping even though it was defective.

Pros: Great for short term use

Cons: I have had 3 different brand laptops with this Blue HD and within 1.5 years they have all died, not slow death but instant death, never to return.

Other Thoughts: Buy something other than the Scorpio Blue
