1 out of 5 eggsOne Dead, The Other Dying

Pros: None, really.

Cons: I gambled on a refurb drive and lost. I've never really liked purely negative reviews, but there isn't really anything good to say about this purchase. One came DOA and the other makes tons of grinding noises. Not even going to bother with trying to get the situation rectified- too much of a hassle.

1 out of 5 eggsworked for 2 months

Pros: NONE

Cons: Worked for 50 days. Details on item said 90 day manufacturer warranty. WD said "out of warranty" Good thing I only had operating system on that HDD.

Other Thoughts: WD refurbished does not exist for me anymore

5 out of 5 eggsGood drive, inexpensive price

Pros: It's a solid, good drive. Tested the blocks, all seems to check out. The value for it (as a refurb) was good. Plugged in and via windows Vista Ultimate worked out of the box.

Cons: None that I can think of.

Other Thoughts: This was an added drive for an SSD system for a relative. They needed data storage since they were downloading little casual games and glutted the SSD I provided with the system (down to 2% available space). Plugged it in, moved and redirected some files, and she was away.

Intel Core2Duo.e6750, OCZ Vertex 60GB HDD, GT8800, 4GB DDR3.

4 out of 5 eggsBought two one was DOA

Pros: One works and haven't really messed with the other. Since i bought them to do RAID 0. First time this has happened in the 10+ years i have bought stuff from newegg

Cons: Bought 2 one was DOA, in the process of getting the bad one replaced.

Other Thoughts: First time in years ive had any type of issue like this with newegg and not really phased by it since it so rare. in the process of getting it replaced as i write this. Also this is why i buy an extended warranty on refurbished items

1 out of 5 eggsif it was a wd

Pros: always bought wd for it's reliability

Cons: order wd blue 160gb hd but new egg sent me a Seagate barracuda st3160318as

Other Thoughts: never tried a Seagate but going to now, have a computer to build and can't wait for an exchange, (customer is getting antsy) if this thing is reliable then i'll have to start thinking about Seagate harddrives

5 out of 5 eggsWorker Bee

Pros: Bought this drive just over 2 years ago. Just using as a data drive. It has not been an issue in any way. It works, and that was what I needed. Western Digital quality all around.

Cons: Zippo

5 out of 5 eggsWorked!

Pros: I got this drive for $20 refurb. It worked, it was quiet, and what's what you look for in a budget HDD from WD. Reliable, no death, no issues.

Cons: SSD prices mean there's no reason to get a HDD anymore unless you need massive storage or a build for under $200.

5 out of 5 eggsBought 8 of these and all are still good!

Pros: All 8 of these drives are still working after over a year now and I got them dirt cheap! I purchase them in March of 2011 and put them in 3 different computers. Today they are still going strong with zero failures.

Cons: I can't think of any...

Other Thoughts: Surprisingly these drives are pretty quick with only 8mg's of cache. I have them as the main boot drive on 2 older computers and it did speed them up. I would get them again... especially if they dropped to $20 again.
