5 out of 5 eggsGreat!

Pros: Don't like "refurbished" scare you, same type of drive you would get back from the manufacture if you had a dead drive you RMA'ed

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsClean & Quiet

Pros: -Unlike Don L's po rn laden drive below mine came with a clean jumpstart version of Window 7 installed which was not needed and formatted away.

- A HD Tune check ran clean with no errors and ATTO returned a respectable 110/109 W/R MB/s.

- Unlike some Seagate drives from the same era that have AAM disabled due to the copyright issue this single platter in very quiet and the AAM setting are accessible to customize.

Cons: - They really should make sure the drive are wiped clean before distribution.

Other Thoughts: The drive have 458 days of power on hours.

4 out of 5 eggsRefurbished Hard Drive with free software and pics! WOW!

Pros: * Free Windows XP operating system with OEM backup!
* Free Po rn (naughty pics)!
* It works so far.
* CHEAP

Cons: * Free Po rn (naughty pics)! Luckily my kid wasn't home when I boot this thing up.

Other Thoughts: I am sure you will just review and delete my comment. You may want to actually format these drives before sending them out.

5 out of 5 eggsSo far so good

Pros: Plenty of space for a win7 boot drive.
Faster than a 5400 RPM boot drive.
Low Wattage.

Cons: None that we didn't already know going in.
Price? - It says $49.99 on this page, but when I purchased it, I got it on sale for $10.
For $50, you can get a 500gb 7200RPM SATA or a 1TB 5400RPM SATA.

Other Thoughts: Bought this for a boot drive for a new network based build. Is doing its job nicely.

4 out of 5 eggsNot a bad deal

Pros: Inexpensive
Reasonable performance
Western Digital product

Cons: Fairly small cache (lowers performance)
Obviously used
Possible leftover data or FAT table issues from previous use.

Other Thoughts: Picked up a couple of these for spare-part builds with older motherboards. One had the WD blue label, the other a black and white OEM label.
Both had visible scratches on the case, the OEM model being the more seriously scratched of the two.
They both received WEI scores of 5.9 after Windows imaging and driver installation were complete.
The blue-label unit was ready for installation, the white-label unit had some sort of unformatted partition on it. A quick run of DBAN resolved that issue. Both drives are running Windows 7-64 bit in their respective systems without issue. Performance is notably slower than more modern drives with larger caches. I wouldn't recommend installing these in any type of gaming machine or system you are expecting any type of performance out of.
I would recommend running a disk-wiping utility on these to be sure you are starting with a clean drive at installation.

1 out of 5 eggsWD1600AAJS Junk

Pros: Has the Western Digital name on it.

Cons: Purchased 4 of these drives in April, and already one has failed. What Junk!!!!! There was nothing on these drives indicating that they were either refurbished, recertified, or remanufactured. They just look like used hard drives, and probably are. 2 of these drives have HP OEM stickers on them. Just another indication that these are just used hard drives.
