5 out of 5 eggsGood upgrade

Pros: Light weight, fast, low noise, and priced right.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Great upgrade for any aging laptop that doesnt warrant an SSD upgrade. You wont be disappointed with this HD.

5 out of 5 eggsPS3 upgrade

Pros: - Price to space ratio is fantastic
- Actually increased the loads slightly (not a whole lot) for the PS3, presumably from it being a higher rated sata and a newer HDD all around.

Cons: - Doesn't cook me dinner? I got more than what I paid for.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this to upgrade my brothers PS3 hard drive as he ran out of space and was complaining that he had to keep erasing things to put on new game data. I purchased this, backed up his save games, swapped hard drives, installed the system software from USB to the new hard drive and it formatted in about 4 minutes and was ready to go! Recopying the saved games and game data took around 5 - 7 minutes (he has a lot of games) and now he even says that his games load a little faster than before.

2 out of 5 eggsMisleading

Pros: Great price. Picked it up at Best Buy when my Seagate HDD Crashed.

Cons: Dont slam your laptop shut. I closed my laptop a little to rough one day when in a hurry. Caused the SMART to trip. En route to RMA #1 (And hopefully last). Label is misleading. The box said it was the WDBABC5000ANC but the Drive itself says WD5000BEVT. WD is sending me the WD5000BEVT as my RMA.

Other Thoughts: If your looking for value, go with this. But id pick something else. If its in a laptop, it should be able to take small falls and small forces before triggering SMART.

4 out of 5 eggsexcellent bang for the buck

Pros: bang for the buck, features, price, western digital technology, quiet, ps3 compatible (or so i've heard), speed 5400 rpm performs like 7200. Would've given 5 stars if not for the mislabeling.

Cons: mislabeled/confusing labeling. not 7200 rpm (but what is at this price, with this much storage) I don't think this is SAS either. In fact western digital didn't even list any SAS laptop hard drives in their products list.

Other Thoughts: The box and model number match the new egg site and western digital has it under the same model number as well. But when you take the actual hard drive out it'll say model: WD5000BEVT which is sold separately on newegg for a cheaper price. After double checking on other sites and scouring western digitals store and website product list, i've come to the conclusion that this is 2010-2011 version of the WD5000BEVT. The different model name on the box must be used to separate newer years/versions of the wd5000bevt. If you want this cheaper (although i'm not sure if there are any spec differences) try
searching WD5000BEVT instead of WDBABC5000ANC-NRSN. Also this model number matched a SATA 3gbs on WD website, not a SAS.
