Other Thoughts: I was looking at this drive as Newegg advertises it at 1.5Gb/s but cross checking the model number on their picture (WD2500BEVT) with WD support and cross checking the product number (WDBABB2500ANC-NRSN) to WD's Store; They both claim it's a 3.0Gb/s drive. Newegg needs offer a link to report suspected inaccurate postings.

Pros: Worked out of the box. No problems with the laptop recognizing the drive. Linux and Win7 installed to it easily.

Other Thoughts: Newegg should really add "drive height" into the Power Search. This dimension is critically important when choosing a drive for many slimline laptops, almost all netbooks, and PS3 upgrades.

Pros: Cheap drive, Sata1 compatible.

Cons: Lasted all of a week before it died.

Pros: Excellent drive, extremely quite in comparison to my other hard drive that I replaced. Good for older laptops, I'm running an Alienware Aurora m9700 and installed with ease. I liked it so much I purchased another one for other hard drive slot. Good price.

Other Thoughts: Good upgrade from the Fujitsu stock hard drive that came with my computer which is loud and only 80 gigs. Significant improvement. I would recommend this product for older computers since it is only SATA 1.5Gb/s. If you have a newer machine, go for the Western Digital SATA 3 Gb/s.

ATTENTION: For those who ran into problems installing an OEM Windows XP OS (regardless of the SP), you will need to disable the SATA function in the BIOS. I can't remember what it was called as it's my friend's laptop and I worked on it a while ago. But OEM versions of Windows XP do not have SATA drivers on them, therefore you will need to disable it in the BIOS before installing

Pros: Purchased to replace a bad drive in my friends laptop. Quick easy install, closest to oem but double the space (120 to 250) and a very pleased friend that spent only $60.00

Other Thoughts: Prefer for shipping reasons boxed Hard Drives rather than Bare Drive and this one is boxed. Good price and quick shipping makes Newegg # 1
