1 out of 5 eggsChanged Review Not good

Pros: If it works WD Black drives are great.

Cons: I wrote my first review too fast. Same day I got the drive I put it in an external enclose and the drive would just disappear. I then needed to restart the Computer for it to show up again. I ran some diagnostics and the drive was bad. I ended up sending it back for a refund

Other Thoughts: On a HD with this short of warranty I dont think I will buy one again. What if the drive would have died 90 days out I would have been out 100+ for the drive.

Spend the Extra Money and get one with a 5yr warranty

It looks like the Fail rate on these refurbs are pretty high definitely not worth it and i have a 1TB WD Black that I have ran for well over 1.5Years now without any issues.

1 out of 5 eggs2 of 10 fail in less than 1 yr.

Pros: Fast and quiet, when they work.

Cons: So far 2 of 10 need to be RMA'ed.

Other Thoughts: I bought a baker's dozen of these as brand-new OEM packaged drives for monthly off-site offline backup storage instead of tape. I formatted them all once and put them on the shelf in their original packaging until they're needed. So far 2 in the last 10 months have failed to be recognized by the controller after their initial format. Now I have to wonder about the integrity of the other drives in this batch with data on them. I would not call this heavy use by any stretch of the imagination.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Drive

Pros: Large HD Space. Fast Drive for a 2TB. Reliable.

Cons: Short warranty because it is refurb but the price savings make it worth it to me

Other Thoughts: I bought this to be used with USB 3.0 enclosure and I am getting Write Speeds of 60MB/s Over USB 3.0 I also have a WD 1TB black that I have had for a couple years now and also 2 WD 74GB Raptors that I have had for 3 or 4 years. Never had an issue with any WD Black drives they seem very reliable and fast. Definitely worth the extra money for the Blacks because of there reliability alone

5 out of 5 eggsVery good

Pros: A lot of space, fast transfer, fast access

Cons: If your adding this to a computer with existing hard drives and want this drive to be your primary boot, set as Master Boot Record before adding any data onto it. I already have too much stuff on it to switch it

1 out of 5 eggsJunk so far.

Pros: Fast and quiet

Cons: Quit after 4 months. Died as fast as it used to run! Started clicking yesterday and then today the clickings getting worse and I'm trying to get my stuff off of it at about 80Kb/s transfer rate. The seagate 1TB I bought to go with it is still working flawlessly. When I unload this pile of feces I'll be getting a Seagate. Honestly if you CAN'T design reliable hard drives without all these problems people keep having, you ARE IN THE WRONG BUISINESS. Don't bother replying, western digital people, as before I sent it back I'd run it over in my truck 20 times. I want to see this pile of feces smashed.

Other Thoughts: It's all pot luck these days people, they're all feces, unless you severely screw up and buy the lucky "good one" somebody somehow managed to get out to you.

Gets one star because its a high dollar brick now.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Value

Pros: Drive storage is a lot, has decent speed and noise level is low.

Cons: Hard to find much negatives with this, except that it would be nice to have sata cables delivered with the drive.

Other Thoughts: make sure to have some good ventilation for the drive as it seems that it runs hotter then 5400rpm, but hey the increase in performance is nice.

5 out of 5 eggsWORKS flawlessly!

Pros: Fast and flawless. I now have 3 WD drives (500GB, 1TB Black and this one) all are great! Had a SSD but somehow wiped everything off in a matter of seconds and decided HDD are more suitable for my work.

Cons: NONE!

Other Thoughts: Love them! Get as many as you can! I plan to!

1 out of 5 eggsI got a bad one

Pros: Quiet, high capacity

Cons: Failed second day after backing up my server. No warning, just not recognized by bios, or by WD software.

Other Thoughts: I got this directly from WD as a replacement for my second failed 1.5 TB drive. I would have been better off from the standpoint of time and money if they had sent me a block of wood.
