4 out of 5 eggsgood

Pros: Very cheep.
Cool for old ide.
Debian 8. Mint 17.

Cons: Has some kind of wierd reaction to Mint 17.2 that doesn't happen in 17 or Debian 8.
Has errors when transfering folder with lots of files... but not when transfering just the files. Weird.

Other Thoughts: Seem to be reliable enough.

5 out of 5 eggsDefinitely not SATA

Pros: All my fault. In my exhausted state I didn't even bother to check if these were SATA. Shot out an email to goHardDive day after delivery and and got a response next day with label attached along with a full refund. Smoothest RMA I have ever accomplished.

Cons: My ignorance?

Other Thoughts: Talk about a bubble wrap pack job. These bad boys would probably survive if they fell from 30,000 ft. Good work goHardDrive.

5 out of 5 eggsNew life to old machine

Pros: For less than $100 you can give new life to an aging machine. I used this 250GB drive to replace the old 20GB in a Pentium 4 machine.

Cons: none

4 out of 5 eggsEasy Install in Vista

Pros: Easy install, runs quiet. Attached to IDE/SATA expansion card with ribbon cable on hand. Not a boot drive so no need to go SATA with extra cable expense. So far so good

Cons: None so far. Should have gone with the 320 drive for a few dollars more.

Other Thoughts: My daughter's computer filled up with i-Tunes and recorded television. Two minutes to install plus ten minutes to move the i-Tunes folder and the DVR destination file, problem solved. Must give credit to Microsoft here: for all of Vista's faults, hard drive installation is really straightforward.
