Pros: It is the right form factor. Plenty of storage

Cons: The drive worked fine for about a month in my Macbook Pro, dual booting into Mac/Vista when it began running slow. Then I got the Grey Screen of Death (that is the Mac version of the BSOD for the Windows only crowd). Now it won't boot at all. The disk utilities cannot even read the drive sectors. Looking at the previous poost I would say- DON'T BUY THIS DRIVE. If you are feeling lucky, get the extended warranty. Hitachi- if you are listning- either design the drive to fail within the first month or give a decent warranty. Guess I'll try a WD or Seagate...

Pros: Plenty of space

Cons: Died without warning . Drive is no longer detected by Mac OS X on Macbook; tried to access it using WinXP on ThinkPad and by booting Hitachi's Drive Fitness Test CD. Deader than a Norwegian Blue.

Other Thoughts: Installed easily; have owned it for 4 months...no problems so far. Received $10 rebate in 5 wks in form of a prepaid visa.
