1 out of 5 eggsBad Sectors after a year of very little use

Pros: It's a HD.

Cons: This drive had bad sectors and is the 4th replacement from Seagate. I previously had the 80GB 7200 version but asked Seagate if I could downgrade to 5400 to see if it was the speed that was causing the issue. I use this drive in an enclosure with very little use.

Other Thoughts: Will need to send it back once again.

1 out of 5 eggsBad Sector A week Later

Pros: Newegg fast shipping, was able to sent back and they sent me a new one but I used it as a back up now

Cons: Disk started clicking and bad sectors found

Other Thoughts: Has been a year since I brought this product just wanted to follow up with a review. Seagate not so great after all..

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works great

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Old laptop HD crashed, so I chose this one. Windows XP setup had hard time creating partitions. I ended up using Partition Magic to set up the partitions and all is well.

4 out of 5 eggsAlmost Perfect

Pros: Plenty fast for this application.
All lightweight & medium apps are nice & snappy!
The heavy apps (netbeans, scribus) load pretty nicely too.

Cons: A little warm!

Other Thoughts: I bought this to breathe some life into an old Latitude 610.
I considered models from this, the Seagate 5400.3 series and the Hitachi 5K160 series. The reviews were a toss up.

Seagate's DiscWizard wouldn't recognize the drive through the (VERY Handy) Nippon Labs USB connection.

Thankfully, Acronis' version did. It was fantastic in that I could redo the partitions exactly the way I wanted them (SWAP & TMP partitions up front with different allocation unit sizes). But, it took pretty much a full day for the xfer to complete.

Altogether, I'm VERY happy with the purchase and thankful for the other customer's comments.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as advertised

Pros: It's a decent enough hard drive, does what it supposed to and is a great upgrade for older laptops (or new ones) with small hard drives.

Cons: none, it worked for me

Other Thoughts: Stuck this thing in my old Inspiron 600m from 2004 (to replace broken hd) and it worked fine. Inserted the disks from d**l and the computer was up and running in like 20 minutes.

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent Drive

Pros: Excellent Performance,Quiet, and Low Power Consumption "noticeable speed boost from a 4200RPM Drive to a 5200"

Cons: None so Far
(A good Upgrade from an old IBM Travelstar 20GB 4200RPM in my Dell Inspiron 8100)

Other Thoughts: Amazing Drive for a Seagate HDD every other Seagate HDD i've ordered or Dealt with has either been DOA or has had slow performance but this one is great.

5 out of 5 eggsGood upgrade

Pros: Good storage capacity and features for the price compared to other 2.5in drives. And the 3yr warranty is good to have.

Cons: None so far. Just the extra cost in general against a comparable sized 3.5in drive.

Other Thoughts: Installed easily in 5 year old Acer laptop as an upgrade to original 60gb hard drive that was running out of room and also starting to fail. Hooked up the new drive via USB hard drive adapter, booted up off a Linux rescue CD, and cloned the old hard drive onto the new hard drive in 15 minutes. Swapped the hard drives, and the laptop booted right up into Windows XP with no problems. All files, applications and settings work fine. Old hard drive is now in an external enclosure as a portable emergency back-up device.
