Massive Storage Devices
- Pros: If your looking for massive storage devices that deliver data a screaming speeds then these are the drives for you. I bought six of these drives for a server application and they have been running no stop for the last 4 months. Super quiet and runs at temps lower than I would have ever imagined. (Stored in a server closet that is kept at around 65 degrees.)
- Cons: Raid Controler will not allow for all six drives to be paired in on virtual disk because it exceeds size limitations. Running two virtual disks in raid 5 causing more lost disk space than I really wanted. I guess that has nothing to do with the drives, just beware of this when purchasing.
- Other Thoughts: Seagate continues to live up to my expectations and needs.
ES will work as boot disk
- Pros: huge capacity, fast, Seagate reliability.
- Cons: none
- Other Thoughts: The user who stated he talked to Seagate and they told him that the ES drives would not work as a boot drive is mistaken.
These drives do work as a boot disk for Windows with no problems. I really am an IT Admin, I do this stuff all day, every day, and I guarantee these drives will work as a boot disk.
