Awesome
- Pros: This HDD is awesome! (So far) It comes with its own 'Start Menu'! It is the coolest thing ive seen out of something so small. It has alot of harddrive space being its size. It is very, very light! Im going to get another one later.
- Cons: It takes up two USB ports. Kind of a pain.
- Other Thoughts: Awesome, small, light weight, decent capacity.
Working fine so far, had a bad USB cable
- Pros: File transfers are fast. Small, light-weight and compact (can easily store in your pocket). USB bus-powered, no external power supply needed.
- Cons: When I first powered on drive using 2-headed cable that was supplied, Windows XP could not recognize drive being plugged in and it was also making a small clicking/skipping sound, kind of like a broken record being played over and over again. Discovered that the cable that came with drive was faulty (proved this by using another extra mini-usb cable I had on hand) and drive was immediately recognized by Windows XP and skipping sound also instantaneously went away. On that same cable, tried plugging/switching both ends of USB standard-a sides, still no avail.
- Other Thoughts: To the person that wrote this review before I did, did you try replacing your USB cable. I suspect faulty rewiring in the cable provided as your symptoms closely relate to mine. Remember, this drive and USB cable assembly was made in CHINA, of all places. I hope my drive doesn't meet the same fate as yours, since I've only owned it for a day.

Connector broke
- Pros: 250 GB of space. Only one cable to lose track of instead of 2 like others.
- Cons: The usb connector inside the case broke off and is now rattling around. As this of course has data on it, I have to break open the case and fix it voiding the warranty. So much for the great seagate warranty.
Disappointed
- Pros: Easy install. Fast. Quiet.
- Cons: Must have gotten a lemon. Can't return under warranty because it contains financial data. can't access the drive to erase, re-format, or run diagnostics.
- Other Thoughts: Already dead, though very light use. Never dropped, always stationary on my desktop. In middle of copying files received error message "cannot copy file **** to ISO device" something about RAW file though I have no files in RAW. When I explore device, shows capacity as "0". No files or folders show up.
Music Files
- Pros: EZ to use, small and light, handy software, price.
- Cons: two usb ports..could be an issue with some laptops.
- Other Thoughts: price was great when I bought it. Using it to store music files only, and getting over 21k files with 160GB space left. The software available for the drive is optional but appears to be useful especially for users who work on more than one system(windows). It allows you to literally take what you're used to along to any pc you work on. If music library continues to grow, will consider getting another one.
