4 out of 5 eggsFlawless so far

Pros: This has worked flawlessly from day 1, never had any issues with it.

Cons: None that I have found yet.

Other Thoughts: I should have went with the bigger one, but at the time the price was high on hard drives and I paid 100 dollars for this.

2 out of 5 eggsGood while it lasted.

Pros: Worked well for the year i had it.

Cons: After a year it begin to randomly get sluggish one day, nothing would respond on desktop, accessing files took 30 minutes, just signs of a hardrive beginning to fail. I just recently purchased another seagate, just because of this issue from one of their drives isn't going to stop me from buying another, i like seagate, its a good HDD company, just got a little unlucky is all.

3 out of 5 eggsLoud, Noisy

Pros: Cheap, does the job (so far)

Cons: Extremely loud at times, noisier as the months go by; sometimes loud enough when - in the same room - it can wake you up in the middle of the night when scheduled maintenance is running on your PC - and THAT can be extremely annoying...

Other Thoughts: Weird with Seagate - they used to be my go-to HD drive company, but lately I'm having some strange failures lately, and WD seems to be more queiter and reliable than they used to be...

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works fine, personally use it as secondary storage for steam library as well as other games. not that loud, works great, works with win 7 64 bit OSes to boot with no problem

Cons: none yet

Other Thoughts: im running out of space so an upgrade will be necessary, but for the average person 500 GB is a decent size

5 out of 5 eggsNice Drive

Pros: Dependablity has been important to me, and seagate drives have worked flawlessly. I have a couple smaller ones set in Raid 0, and they preform well, and after a year in this config, they are still running strong. I switched from a different manufacture over a year ago now, and have never looked back.

Cons: none for once :P

1 out of 5 eggsBoo ON YOU NEWEGG

Pros: None

Cons: The drive didn't function. It happens. No big deal.

BUT

I purchased the drive as part of a combo deal....
Drive's bad. Send it back to NewEgg... which cost me 12 bucks.
They are out of the drives when after I return it. So they issue me a refund.....

Since it was a combo deal and the drive runs 89.99, they take the whole combo discount off. (68.95)

So I get a credit of 21.04? Less 12 bucks to ship it back?
sooooooooooo my 500g drive nets me nine dollars and 4 cents......

It would have been better to send it back to Seagate. So just send it back to me! I would have my 500g HD then. WHICH is exactly what I want and need.
A substitution would be completely acceptable.. (since i still NEED a hard drive)

I've been a customer since 2001. I've spent 11,803.87 during that time period.

I've returned a MB in 2004.
A HD in 2005.
And a monitor broken during shipping in 2009.
So I don't have excessive returns......

Man do I feel cheated right now.
