5 out of 5 eggs-5 Years and zero issues.

Pros: -I've had two of these drives in a Raid 0 Array since day 1.
-No issues at all after 5 years of nonstop service (system on 24/7/365, no standby, hibernate or spin down; only high performance power settings).
-Probably endured 20 or so power outages over the years on the system (HD hard stop) and no problems created.
-I have taken these hard drives (whole computer actually) on a multiple stop airplane trip across the country, and have had them shipped from Arizona to Chicago via UPS. Though great care was taken in the wrapping, still, great drives.
-Fast, very fast in Raid, brother still can't figure out how his brand new computer cant boot or load games half as fast.
-Hear lots of SMART boot issues these days. So far these drives have given me none. No clicking either, haven't thought about these drives in years.

Cons: -None, happy customer. Though after 5 years the quality of all major manufacturers seems to be waning if paying attention to trending complaints.

Other Thoughts: -I have been reading many reviews for both seagate and western digital as of late since I felt like getting a few TB storage drive now that they are so cheap, and I hear a lot of complaining about reliability so I thought I would throw in my 2 cents.
- I have ran PerfectDisk Pro since the first day of use on these drives with very aggressive de-fragmentation, every day in reality. They have, over the several partitions I created on the raid, maintained 0% de-fragmentation throughout their entire lifetime. As an experienced technician I consider this a must on my system to maintain reliable performance and longevity of my heavily used drives, but by no means can I credit the incredible reliability of these drives due to this process alone. And if you think it's because my drives are empty and easy to maintain your wrong, My boot drive partition (wont make this mistake again, stuck in XP thinking when I did it) is 40GB and is constantly between 36-38GB of space, as I delete caches. And the rest of the physical space on the drives have been 80% full for years now. Since setup I deleted default folders for windows and junction linked them to new ones on an alternate partition, to keep boot partition from read/write nonsense and keeping boot files guaranteed at physical beginning of hard drives. Applied this to Programs and Programs(x86), Documents folder, and a good portion of Users folder is split using this method. Google (mklink /J <link> <target>) to know more, but don't try this method if you don't know what your getting into.
-Here's hoping my next purchase is as successful.
-Heavily used and ran hard, really realizing how impressed I am as I am writing this review.

2 out of 5 eggsNot worth the money

Pros: Low cost

Cons: High failure rate on these drives. Failed a week after 2 year warranty was up.

Other Thoughts: Pay a few dollars more and get something just as good from Western Digital. You get an extra year warranty...would have come in handy in this case. It failed a week after the 2 year warranty expired.

4 out of 5 eggsFlawless so far

Pros: This has worked flawlessly from day 1, never had any issues with it.

Cons: None that I have found yet.

Other Thoughts: I should have went with the bigger one, but at the time the price was high on hard drives and I paid 100 dollars for this.

2 out of 5 eggsGood while it lasted.

Pros: Worked well for the year i had it.

Cons: After a year it begin to randomly get sluggish one day, nothing would respond on desktop, accessing files took 30 minutes, just signs of a hardrive beginning to fail. I just recently purchased another seagate, just because of this issue from one of their drives isn't going to stop me from buying another, i like seagate, its a good HDD company, just got a little unlucky is all.

3 out of 5 eggsLoud, Noisy

Pros: Cheap, does the job (so far)

Cons: Extremely loud at times, noisier as the months go by; sometimes loud enough when - in the same room - it can wake you up in the middle of the night when scheduled maintenance is running on your PC - and THAT can be extremely annoying...

Other Thoughts: Weird with Seagate - they used to be my go-to HD drive company, but lately I'm having some strange failures lately, and WD seems to be more queiter and reliable than they used to be...

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works fine, personally use it as secondary storage for steam library as well as other games. not that loud, works great, works with win 7 64 bit OSes to boot with no problem

Cons: none yet

Other Thoughts: im running out of space so an upgrade will be necessary, but for the average person 500 GB is a decent size
