Pros: No pros, do not buy Samsung. Thishas been the most disappointing hardrive I have owned in decades.

Shame on Samsung. Shame on HP for putting this junk in their Envy notebooks.

Cons: Cheap, It will die after 1 year and you cannot get warranty support.

Other Thoughts: Buy anything else but a Samsung. And if Seagate is peddling these now, avoid them to.

Pros: none

Cons: Failed in a year and half. No warning. No hard drive disk error or bad sector. Just failed the drive is not bootable even in safe mode.

Pros: Cheap, cheap, cheap!!!

Cons: This is my first hard drive that has the bad sector problem. I will never buy any samsung hard drive products again!!!

Cons: In less than a year, I started having really slow response in my macbook pro. I tried copying out the user files to another hard drive using the Finder, but it failed due to read errors. Luckily, I was able to get most of the files out using the terminal and linux commands. Then I reformatted the drive using OS x drive utility and reinstalled a fresh OS X and then copied user files back over. Things seemed fine afterwards, then I started adding photos and started having iphoto crash.
I took the hard drive out and connected it to a windows pc to run seagate's hard drive tool (Seagate now handles Samsung drive support). It came back with read errors and could not fix them.

I just shipped them the drive back last week with an RMA. We'll see if Seagate sends me a replacement that works better.

Pros: Price was good and drive worked well -- for a year almost to the day

Cons: Failed exactly 362 days after it was delivered to my door.

Other Thoughts: Hard disks don't fail that often and I've owned several Samsung brand drives. This is the first Samsung that failed me; but, I always make it a point to buy drives with long warranties and I keep my user data backed up daily so there is no great consternation here. Got an RMA today from Samsung; but, it would be nicer if Samsung had someone edit their web site that speaks English as a FIRST language.

Pros: Seemed to work nicely under daily use in my Lenovo T400 as long as it worked.

Cons: Failed at 13 months. The Samsung website does not list this drive and said I have to contact Samsung at 1-800-Samsung (1-800-726-7864) any day between 9 am to 9 pm, EST.
