Pros: It's an external hard drive...what more needs to be said? It's read / write speeds are average and so far it seems to be doing a great job.

Cons: The bus connector seems to be a little cheap and I'm afaird at somepoint it will get broken. The USB conector is not a usual type conector, so itf that also broke I am out of luck.

Pros: Got a pair of these for gifts to my daughters so they have for image HDD in windows 7 and 8 for their respective computers, I partitioned them for 2 images then the rest is set for data storage , was no problems with this and all went smooth and the girls are happy with them. If they are happy Daddy is happy

Cons: Price needs to come down some more yet

Pros: Sleek and fast. Decent read and write speeds (r/w speeds ~ 80-90 MB/s).

Pros: Awesome fast Hard Drive I've been using for the past few months.
Super portable, I use this instead of a traditional flash drive when I go to shcool.
USB 3.0 is awesomely fast!

It is "two parts" as in you can take the SATA connector and use it to connect other hard drives to your computer through USB 3.0. Did this to transfer files from my old broken Laptop to my brand new laptop. Just pull off the connector, plug it into a different hard drive, plug it into your computer through the provided cable, and you're good to go.

Cons: The software Seagate provides is okay, but it keeps eating up my CPU like crazy, up to 75% of my CPU sometimes (on a i7 3632QM Quad Core clocked at 2.2GHz. )

But, the software isn't required to use the drive though.

Pros: I backed up my 320 GIG PS3 and my PC. It takes a special tool to format fat 32 @ 1 gig in windows. This is the only format the PS3 recognizes so you will need to Google it and be handy with command prompt.

Cons: None

Pros: awesome case, the top pops off and can attach to another 2.5" drive.

Pros: Looks great with the selection of colors. Whisper quiet operation. Fast as lightning.

Other Thoughts: Seagate is really making some nice products these days. Seagate gives you great value and quality for a low price - much lower that its competitors. Quality is far superior to equivalent products on the market. This drive gives you some extra goodies for the money. The end where the USB connector plugs into the drive pulls off of the drive providing you with a SATA to USB adapter. You could pay more than $30 just for the SATA to USB adapter, but this Seagate drive includes it as part of the integral design. Thank you Seagate! Operation is fast and super quiet. The drive is lightweight and takes up so little space that you can easily take it along with you in a pocket. I'd give it 6 eggs if that were possible!

would not perform right out of the box. tried to setup software on windows 8. It wanted to register drive first, I tried to register and it could not find registration site so I manually registered it and installation software did not recognize it had been done and would not install software.
switched to my desktop with windows 7 and it could not see the drive to install the software. I tried on my 2nd laptop and was able to start to install software but it stopped after the registration. I needed this drive to be able to share and backup pictures music and documents between machines, it is no good if it cannot be used between machines and software. Went to Seagate on line and did not find any support documentation or software to help me. Their site was impressive for sales of new equipment but offered little to no help for my issues. they need to support their equipment better and have it be recognized by the current operating systems as well as old ones. I was very dissatisfied and returned the drive.

Other Thoughts: Research products better make sure they support the current operating system ie Windows 8 . It may have been a bad drive I don't know this was just my experience

Pros: I have way less than 1 TB of data to back up, so it's more than enough.

Cons: I have a USB 2.0 system. (I tend to buy USB 3.0 with the thought that my next system should be higher end.) It manages maybe 7 MB/s throughput. However, there are a lot of small files in these backups. Also, I run my backups overnight anyway. Still, not fast on USB 3.0.

Pros: This plug and play beauty with native power makes backing up easy. Fast writes and no worries.

Cons: The software that comes with it didn't work, but it is so unnecessary, so no worries.
