5 out of 5 eggsBest Hybrid Drive

Pros: These are the best Hybrid drives out there. Seagate should have never left the Hybrid 7200rpm drives behind. Fast boot times, most programs start very quickly. When tranfering files that is when you really notice how much better these drives are over the newer Hybrids. I have 4 of these running wtih no issues. Two are in PC's and two in Macbooks. Would highly recomend getting this drive.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Price is right.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome buy

Pros: Got it on discount. Works like new. Boots fast.

Cons: I was somewhat afraid to purchase a refurbished HDD in the event something got messed up and was unnoticed i didn't want to deal with the return process, but I could not beat the price. Works great thus far.

4 out of 5 eggsGlad I bought this

Pros: Awesome boot time and most of my applications opens in a snap.

Cons: The 1 missing star is for the refurbish. I don't have that peace of mind that it will last long.

Other Thoughts: After upgrading my i5-480M budget laptop from 4GB to 8GB, the bottleneck becomes my 5400 RPM hard drive speed. This completes my upgrade and now my laptop feels like my Xeon workstation at work.

All my applications runs snappy including Visual Studio 2013, Paint.net, Publisher, Word, RDP, Note, IE 11, Chrome, Opera browser, MS-SQL management studio, and while all of these running at the same time I’m watching Netflix on my 2nd monitor!

Very happy with my machine now without buying for a new high end laptop.

5 out of 5 eggsNot compatible with PS4

Pros: Price!
Near SSD Performance

Cons: NOT compatible with the Sony Playstation 4. Do not buy this drive if you are planning on putting it in a PS4. I have tried for hours and it will not work. Other drives I own work fine.

Other Thoughts: By no fault of Seagate, this drive will not work with the PS4. Other than that, this is a great drive at an absolutely fantastic price.

1 out of 5 eggsTerrible. Ordered two, both failed within an hour.

Pros: Fast, when working.

Cons: Ordered two of these, and put them in external enclosures. Both failing within an hour of turning on. Always had bad luck with refurb drives, and now I remember why. One started making a loud grinding noise. The other started making a ton of scratching noises, then failed not too soon after.

4 out of 5 eggsNoticablely faster than my old Hitachi 500GB

Pros: The small bit of flash memory integrated into this drive greatly decreased my windows boot time. Also my two most used programs(Aurora and Outlook) load faster. A SMART check shows that there are no issues with the drive even after a month of ownership. I got this thing on sale here for a stupidly low price, and couldn't be happier.

Cons: None thus far, however it is a refurbished drive so I'm always nervous about it failing.

Other Thoughts: If you can get the drive on sale for under $70 like I did, than it is well worth the investment, however any higher and I would've gone to a new drive vs. this recertified one.
