Would this HDD fit inside a PS4?

I bought this for my son's PS4 and yes, it worked perfectly.  I found the instructions on how to upgrade the system from the Sony website, and it was a very simple install and upgrade.

Are these hard drives new or used?

The drives sold through newegg are brand new, but bulk packaged. I wound up using 2 of these in a win7 laptop - solid performance.

I've heard that compatibility with ps4 is hit or miss depending on your Firmware version, so if you're using them for the console make sure it's got the latest firmware before doing the HDD swap...if that's what you're using it for anyway ;)

Will this work in a 15" mid 2012 MacBook Pro?

As long as it is using a 2.5"Sata drive, then yes it will. Most laptops, even Macbooks, utilize the same sort of HDD.

Hello I have a dell xps 15 L501x.. Will THis hard drive be compatible?

This drive should fit unless your machine has some weird width requirements. Some of the older dell's had a slot the drive slid into and some drives were physically too thick.  I believe yours goes in from the bottom, meaning you should be fine.

I'd say yes, this drive should be awesome for your dell :)

Question 5

Anyone get this HDD to work on PS4?? I have it installed and I keep getting errors saying cannot find an update file 2.03 or later... and Sony Tech support is telling me that you cannot upgrade a ps4 HDD past 1TB

I actually bought it for my ps3 but it said it was incompatible. So I popped it my ps4 and it does work. The thing with the update file 2.03 is the system software for the ps4. The new HD doesn't have that. Unfortunately sony's site has not updated to have that version available to download. I would put a link for the site but it won't let me link to other sites. Google playstation 4 system update and click the link for new install. Check the site often and they may update before too long.  I checked it just prior to writing this and its not there yet. 2.03 was released just a few days ago so it may take some time for the site to update. Oh, and the site gives step by step instructions on how to install and tells the latest version they have available. I hope this helps you out!

Runs great. Ive had it in my PS4 for a couple weeks and I haven't had any problems. Installation was quick and easy. Just follow instructions on the Sony website.

Yes- I swapped it with the stock HDD in my PS4 a few months ago. So much more space and less worrying about deleting games/vid clips.

Does this work with PS4? Some people are saying this drive does not work with PS4 some are saying yes. I've used Samsung hdd in PS3 and the problem that I had was  the drive had to be changed into a different mode or some such nonsense. This required downloading an ISO, burning to disc, then booting from the ISO, only to have to switch one setting and then have the drive work. I'm a little bit leery about Samsung HDD for that reason. If it doesn't work the solution is needlessly complex for some reason.

I've heard mixed reviews as to whether or not this drive works as a suitable drive upgrade for a PS3.  I know it works for a PS4.

My model of PS3 is one of the newest 250GB toploading slide door models.   Will this drive work with it or am I better off purchasing the 1TB drive?

You'd be taking an educated risk on buying it for the PS3 as it does work well with the PS4 as most of us are using it here for that reason. At this price and it's size you aren't buying a paper weight if the PS3 for some reason won't let you load the dashboard to it as you could add it as storage to anything else really.

Will this fit a Dell XPS L-702X?

How do you copy the data over from the removed HDD?

I don't see why it wouldn't fit your computer, the only thing is I bought this for a MacBook Pro.  To me it looks like a standard laptop drive.

To copy the data over, the easiest way I can think of since you use windows is, if you have an external hard drive case (one that you would use to make your own external drive) and copy and paste.  I hate to say use Google or YouTube, but I am not much of a windows guy anymore.

I wish I could be more help than I have been.  If I did help, I am greatly pleased.
