1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: eSata, Looks like your average no name External, Cheap for a reason.

Cons: Lasted about 4 months before it bricked, Wouldn't trust any brands but WD/Segate for HDD's. (Not including SSD's)

Other Thoughts: Could have just been my luck, But I've always encountered many problems with no name brands that are a bit cheaper, best to go with the main top5 brand names for the part you are looking to get.

4 out of 5 eggsMakes a great night light

Pros: This thing is great, it holds all my movies and music, plus its 'green' for the environment and also doubles as a night light!

however...

Cons: that night light can also be use as a guidance for airplanes to land. it way to bright, and unless you shut it off at night or have it below 'sleeping eye' level, its annoying.

Other Thoughts: Also when the drive is in idle for a while, it shuts off to save power, good. But when you start it back up, it sounds like an industrial blender or something of the sort. Still worth the bang for the buck.

5 out of 5 eggsNot DOA

Pros: works with my esata connection and windows 7

was able to format into fat32

very small, sleek and compact

Cons: LAST TIME I ORDERED FROM NEWEGG, IT TOOK THEM 3 DAYS TO DELIVER THE PRODUCT! THIS TIME, IT TOOK THEM OVER A WEEK, ARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!...

Other Thoughts: ...oh yeah, there was a REALLY bad snow storm that pretty much shut off the east coast from the rest of the work, that is why it took so long.

5 stars... until this thing dies

5 out of 5 eggsNothing wrong with overkill.

Pros: Looks good. Thin and easy to install on vista and windows 7.
I like how I can put it flat or standing up and doesn't take up room on my desktop.
Great speed on USB 2.0. I haven't tried SATA cable yet but I'm happy with the USB speed.
Still hasn't broken or shown any signs or errors and it's been a year.

Cons: I dislike the LED light in front. Too bright when I'm trying to sleep. (I have to cover it up or just turn it off.
A little noisy when its working but not that bad i suppose.

Other Thoughts: (My first review)
I bought this about a year ago on Black Friday. It was overkill memory for me then since i didn't need it. However, i'm glad i got it because its a great way to back up my whole computer in one spot and still have ample room to work with.
I recommended this drive to all my friends.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Drive

Pros: Just a great drive, dependable and quick as heck transferring with an esata connection which is a must for moving blu ray stuff.

Cons: none so far, works flawlessly

Other Thoughts: fat32 - have another option to format.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Drive for Win 7-64 Ultimate

Pros: Fantastic drive, worked the Tar out of it with SQL Server 2008 Developer large database work... Would run 24 hour (+) with not issues, Had to put a fan behind it for those DB Reorg test... The heat build up was huge, but that was my doing not Fantom.. The drive as I recall was a Hitachi and it was Enterprise strong.
Overall rating -- Exceptional.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: When driving it hard for hours, I needed it to have a variable a speed fan to keep it cool, but this was my issues and not FANTOM's... I bought a $10-$20 fan (Lakewood) 5in diameter fan and the problem was solved.

5 out of 5 eggsAttractive, smaller in person

Pros: Makes the most it can out of USB 2.0, but it really shines on eSATA with ~80MB read/write sustained. This was a great deal.

The pictures made it seem large, but the reality is that it's very sleek and small for a 3.5" external. Very professional-looking and rugged-feeling external case.

Quiet.

Cons: The blue light could help airplanes land during a blizzard. Why do hardware manufaturers thing we want to be blinded by LEDs? Save it for a flashlight.

Other Thoughts: Inside mine was a Hitachi Deskstar HD32000 IDK/7K (0S00164). I have since disassembled this drive and installed the drive internally to match my other Hitachi 2TB HDD.

Don't stand it upright, even though it comes with a stand. If the drive tips over while in operation, you will LOSE YOUR DATA. I learned this the hard way years ago with a different external. Trust me on this.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat HDD

Pros: Great price for the size. Very reliable. Nice compact design for the size.

Cons: This hard drive can get kinda noisy at times. Besides the noise I have had no problems with it.

Other Thoughts: If you are looking for a 2TB HDD that is fast, effective, and reliable, this one is for you.

4 out of 5 eggsGood drive

Pros: Enormous capacity for the price.

Cons: Higher noise level than previous Fantom 1TB drive (Hitachi v. WDC). Blue LED way too bright.

Other Thoughts: Fantom seems to produce drives with very high value. I think their enclosures look really nice and I've been happy with the performance of their drives. This enclosure has an HItachi drive that's a bit noisier at time than what I prefer but for the price, it pretty unbeatable.

Only marked down to 4 eggs due to the noise.
