5 out of 5 eggsPerfect capacity, WD quality

Pros: Great price on Newegg. I needed a secondary HDD for my computer. Primary drive is a SSD. This will be for storage so don't need the speed.

Cons: Not really a con but takes a while to format in Computer Management within Windows.

Other Thoughts: Great drive for an awesome price.

4 out of 5 eggsSuited to purpose

Pros: Quiet, cool.

Cons: Slow, but see other thoughts.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to put into an empty 2.5" USB3.0 external enclosure I had to use as a backup drive. It took over an hour just to format. Speed isn't essential in this application though, and the drive is otherwise good for its intended uses. I'd buy another for this use.

1 out of 5 eggsBad out of the box

Pros: This is a nice cheap drive.

Cons: The hard drive was bad right out of the box. The second bad one in less than a week and 3rd in a month. I have been faithful to WD for years but the recent problems are causing me to reconsider.

I bought the replacement drive at Best Buy so I didn't have to pay for return shipping on yet another bad hard drive from NewEgg. Also, if you do return the drive use USPS and save yourself 4 bucks on shipping price and a faster return.

Other Thoughts: If you do get a good drive... congrats.

1 out of 5 eggsWorked for 8 hours

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Broke after 8 hours of usage.

Other Thoughts: I bought this drive to replace my friend's broken toshiba laptop HDD. However it broke when Win7 was updating itself. The total running time of this drive was somewhat 8 hours.

I tried various means trying to zero-fill the drive but it seemed to be a deeper problem like a broken controller. BIOS could find the device but booting would get stuck. Or if I plug it in any computer, the computer would just freeze when trying to parse the drive. Contacted Newegg and got the RMA for refund.

Not gonna touch WD Blue in a loooong time.

Manufacturer Response:

Hi Jeff, we want to extend our sincere apologies for the issue you have experienced. Western Digital does rigorously test and verify all of our drives, prior to shipping, with burn-in and diagnostic tests. For troubleshooting a drive, we recommend running either our WINDLG diagnostics software or Macs built-in Disk Utility to check your drives health.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: None

Cons: Computer came in with a dead hard drive. I replaced with this 750 GB WD drive. The install kept failing. I put in another hard drive and the install went perfectly. The hard drive must have been bad. RMA'd.

Other Thoughts: I use a lot of Western Digital drives with good results. Will continue to do so. Just got a bad one this time.

5 out of 5 eggsWD Blue Lives Up to Its Rep

Pros: The clean, reputable name of WD Blue has never failed me, and I can say the same still today. When within my budget and ability, I have chosen WD over any other hard drive with Seagate closely behind. These bad boys last for years even after repeated use, system crashes, power outages, and reformatting. The hard drive got here safely and installed seamlessly on a new Dell with Windows 8. I was able to clone a smaller 500 GB hard drive onto this one and expand the free space to use all of the 750 GB here.

Cons: More cowbell.

5 out of 5 eggsDecent Drive

Pros: Very quiet, runs cooler and faster than previous drive so for me it is definitely a big improvement.
Was a Birthday present Lol..

Cons: Had to go to drive management to initialize it which I believe never had to do with any other drive I have owned but not a big deal really It just might freak some people out because windows 8 gave no indication it was even attached.

Other Thoughts: Only 2 year warranty but I have always had good luck with
WD Drives and never needed to use it anyway. Only time will tell.
Formats out to around 699gb Windows NTFS default.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works Great no problem installing.
This was an addition to my existing SDD drive.

Cons: No cable, No caddie - Did know this prior to placing the order and ordered the cable and caddie separately.
Forgotten how to format the drive, had to do a little search to refresh my knowledge.
