5 out of 5 eggsAmazing quality for the price

Pros: This projector is excellent for the price. I work for Dish and work with alot of home theater systems, this projector is just as good as some of the $2000 projectors I've seen. Way better quaility than any rear projector tv I've seen. I've got mine projector onto a 120" screen and I only need it 12' away.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: The only drawback that I have with this projector (though it may be the fact I have it so large) is that while watching movies if I change my focus from one end of the screen to the other you can see a RGB blur out of the corner of your eye. Not too bad though you get used to it.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Projector

Pros: Good Brand, Good Price and great overall projector

Cons: location to mount projector to ceiling was a little different then most others, so make sure the mounting bracket you buy will fit that specific model.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Stuff

Pros: I bought two of these with the $50 instant rebate. Which rocked. I have installed them in classrooms and love them. They have good color and a large amount of adjustment which is great when you have a 72" smartboard screen to mate it up to. So far I really like it. The students could see the screen with lights one and blinds open.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsAffordable HD and 3D!

Pros: A great machine. Very low energy and it comes with a great warranty. Finally 3D that I can afford. You can find 3D glasses around $20.

Cons: The only thing I don't like is that you cant change brightness settings when it's in 3D mode. You have to set this up before you go to 3D

4 out of 5 eggsGood. And Cheap. (But cheap.)

Pros: A bright 1080p projector at a great price point.

Cons: They cut every corner they could to get there, and a few they didn't have to.

Other Thoughts: Other reviews here and elsewhere go into the technical details, but here are my overall impressions.

I wanted a bright 1080p projector at a reasonable price. This one fills the bill.

That said, it not only is cheap but looks and feels cheap, and lacks some important details that will make it less convenient to use, especially for those who take advantage of its portable size and weight.

The case feels plasticy and cheap. The distractingly shiny and reflective finish on the top doesn't help. (The sides and bottom are matte, just to rub it in.)

No lens cap! How could they? Fortunately the plastic cap off my wife's small can of gold glitter spray paint snaps into place as if it were made for it, and the glitter adds a touch of retro chic.

The front elevation wheel is a wide pitch plastic helix. I miss the metal screw with a quick release tab on my old Sharp projector, compared to which this is clumsy and slow. And there's no second adjustable foot to level the projector, so you'll be sticking folded paper under a corner.

The manual comes only on DVD, an inconvenience for road warriors.

I'm bothered that the fan turns off almost as soon as the power button is pressed. I'd be happier if it cooled the lamp down first, but maybe the engineers know what they're doing.

It's a good, cheap projector, and that's what you get.

4 out of 5 eggsBest Purchase & I am a gamer

Pros: Great picture and super fast response time. I can't tell the difference on this compared to my flat screen TV's with 5ms response. I play high speed competition gaming and I have no cons to having a 100"+ screen while playing. I am using the wall and it's PLENTY bright without a screen of any sort and this wall is by no means even close to white (it's a darker red). Very surprised by the power.

Cons: Of course a little fan noise (not overbearing) 1 HDMI input is a downer of course. If you use Keystone feature you will see a dim light where the picture is supposed to be so plan on making it level with the center of the screen for optimal view. I have mine behind the couch at about center with the view screen and it's great.

Other Thoughts: The thing is short throw so it makes a large image from a short distance. You will only have about 5 feet of wiggle room to fit this on your screen if you have one with the zoom feature. Plan carefully or you should not be buying a projector in the first place. Great for the money and I have not tried the 3d feature yet so I am not commenting on it. 4 stars for high performance, small price tag, and exactly what I wanted after my expectations were shattered while being addicted to this huge and awesome picture!!!

5 out of 5 eggsLove it

Pros: I love it so far. Its 1080p, and while not as good as the w1080st, its close. Its not listed as short throw, but it is. For every foot you move it back from the wall, you get one foot of diagonal image. FYI Theres another one by Acer as well (h6510bd) which is pretty much the same projector.

I actually bought the BenQ w770st first and returned it. As I'm sitting about 8 feet from the screen, the 1080p matters a lot to me. If you are considering a 720p projector, sooner or later you'll wish you would have bought a 1080p projector. This is how I felt a day after I bought the w770st haha.

Cons: Rainbow effect.

5 out of 5 eggsExtremely happy with the purchase

Pros: First impressions over my last DLP projector:
- The white is white and bright, the black is black.
- Quickly turns on/off.
- Keystones just as well, able to get square picture with projector 2.5 feet from ceiling and image at the ceiling.

This projector is perfect for my space.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: My projector died so I spent a couple days hunting for a replacement. My setup is through an acrylic window about 11.5 feet to the opposite wall. I had what I think was a standard throw projector 1.5-1.7:1 and it didn't quite fill up the wall so I searched for short throw projectors. Those were around 1.0:1 and would not zoom down enough for my room. Then I found the ViewSonic with a 1.3:1 throw and it is a perfect fit. The entire wall is filled with light. 11 feet diagonal at maximum zoom. Text and image look great.
I use this primarily with an XBox 360 for gaming and movies. The projector seems more responsive that the one it replaced. I can't discern a delay between controller and image at all. HD Streaming movies are crisp. I watched a DVD last night and noticed the lower quality of the media.

1 out of 5 eggsHope Viewsonic will fix this stupid bug

Pros: brightness/Cheap

Cons: sharpness badly in 1080P 3D 24Hz mode. I just find it work bad in 1080P 3D 24Hz framepaking mode. One Native 1080P projector should output a 1:1 pixel to pixel view when my laptop output a 1920x1080 resolution. This projectoer works well in 2D mode. But in 3D mode, once I output 3D by PowerDVD, I find the top/left/right side have overscan about 5% in 3D mode. I worked in TV manufactor for 8 years, I have never seen a display device overscan in their native resulution without option to choose. 100% to 105% overscan has make a clear picture from 3D blueray disc turn to urgly view. I have tried Intel laptop and AMD APU based laptop for both RGB and YCbCr mode. All the mode I tried have this problem in 1080P 3D 24Hz. I am not sure all the firmware version have this problem, but I can not read my firmware version by normal menu. I hope Viewsonic can fix this problem by firmware update. But viewsonic do not feedback to me so far. I believe if I know this problem before I buy it, I won't buy this projector any more.
