2 out of 5 eggsDecent switch, poor support

Pros: It's a gigabit switch, does what it's supposed to do for a good price.

Cons: Get what you pay for, I guess. Switch ports started failing a few months after deployment. Contacted Trendnet support, within warranty period. We have to pay to ship their faulty product back to them, and they want original packaging for an unmanaged switch installed several months prior. RMA process is a hassle. Not the treatment I'm used to from using higher end gear, but again, I guess you get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: If support is important to you, stick with better name brands.

5 out of 5 eggsRuns great

Pros: Purchased in 2011 and has been running flawlessly since. Runs as advertised. Speeds are accurate. Just plug it into the network, and have everyone up without any hassle.

Cons: No brackets (as everyone and their mother has said already), but wasn't an issue at all for me.

Other Thoughts: Great product.

3 out of 5 eggsWas a great switch - until

Pros: Unmanaged Gigabit Switch, Price

Cons: See Other Thoughts

Other Thoughts: I installed this 24 port switch in October 2012 and it started to fail January 2013. Started to drop or hang connectivity. Had to power cycle multiple times a day to regain connectivity. I've used (and still use) other TRENDnet switches (5 and 8 port) that are working fine. Maybe this one is just a bad one! I sent a request to get a RMA to send it back for repair/replacement (TRENDnet only offers a 3 year limited warranty) so we'll see if they contact me.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Switch

Pros: Worked out of the box. Handles network load without a problem.

Cons: No rack mount brackets

Other Thoughts: I got this on sale to replace a Netgear 24 port managed switch (less power, noise, and heat generation). The switch has been running for 6 months without a hiccup.

I have done sustained file transfers that lasted 72+ hours and the switch performed flawlessly.

5 out of 5 eggsNice switch

Pros: I installed this last night. It is a very nice unmanaged switch. Best part is that it has no fan = no noise for a 24 port gigabit switch!

Cons: There none.

Other Thoughts: I use this to replace my 24 port cisco/linksys 10/100mb switch that has a fan. It is very loud and uses more power.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid GB Switch

Pros: I found this on sale for >$100 shipped and picked it up. New house had CAT-5 pre-wired from a central panel to each room, like 17 network cables in total (2-3 to each room). So I plugged them all into this switch and it has been working like a champ for over a year, Needed gigabit as I have a central WMC and Extenders, this works perfect with no slow downs to buffer.

Cons: None

Pros: Works flawless, quiet, cool, inexpensive, low power consumption and fast.

Cons: Listen Trendnet...no ears = 4 eggs

Other Thoughts: Lend me an ear, or two.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Product for the Price

Pros: Bought the switch for use in our office. Mounted the switch to our rack using mounting brackets (sold separately) and plugged in the cables. Everything worked at first start and has been working with no problems for about 4 months now.

Cons: Be aware that although the switch is listed as rackmountable, Netgear DOES NOT include the rack mounting brackets with the switch.

I bought them by searching for "TRENDnet ETH-11MK Rack Mount Kit for TEG-S16Dg and TEG-S24Dg".
