5 out of 5 eggsGreat product!

Pros: These are great. I have two now. Both function great. Nice small size, and they mount on a wall easy.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: These are amazing, but i just want to point out that they aren't managed switched. So don;t buy it thinking that.

1 out of 5 eggsGood switch has radio-interfering wall wart

Pros: The switch always performed fully and properly.

Cons: Wall wart AC power supply (9VDC, 500mA switching) YHSW-090050U generated so much EMI (electromagnetic interference = radio hash/splatter, RFI) that no AM broadcast or shortwave radio was usable in the household. Unbelieveable difference when problem was unplugged. Went out and bought a used switch.

Other Thoughts: No other Rosewill product has ever caused me problems.

5 out of 5 eggsNo longer uses Realtek RTL8309 chip

Pros: Performs as advertised as a plain unmanaged 10/100 switch. Very inexpensive. Easily keeps up with data flow when multiple 100M ports are being saturated to line capacity. Fanless, cool-running, low power use. All cables, including power plug into the back (preceding RC-406 model had power jack on the side). LEDs on front & flat-top case makes it easy to stack with other components.

Cons: Although it was never an advertised/documented feature, and something very few people will care about... the RC-406 model this replaced used a Realtek RTL8309SB or RTL309SC switch chip, and so could be modified to support 802.1q VLAN tagging for router/firewall use (by adding a properly-programmed 24LC02 EEPROM chip to load the config registers -- this did require some fine-pitch soldering to a surface-mount chip).

With the RC-406X, though, Rosewill has switched to using the IC+ (ICPlus) IP178D chip, which lacks any such VLAN feature. Oh, well, it still works fine as a plain switch, but I do wish I'd bought more of the older RC-406's when they were still being made.

Other Thoughts: Does anyone know of another small switch still on the market that's built around the Realtek RTL8309SC chip? How about the Rosewill RFS-108 recently added here at Newegg? (item N82E16833166078)?

5 out of 5 eggsGood 100Mbps Switch

Pros: - Good Construction
- Advertised Speeds are accurate
- Low Power Consumption
- Un-managed, simple plug and play

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: This was a great price for an 8-port switch. I no longer use this switch as my network is now 1000Mbps, but this was great while using it. Rosewill makes great products as always.

5 out of 5 eggsPerforms Well

Pros: Stable, inexpensive, light-weight housing

Cons: Light-weight housing.

Other Thoughts: Bought this for a small computer lab environment running at Ethernet 100Mbps max. Was worried it wasn't auto-mdi but it did sense the uplink cable. So used all pass-through cables with no issues at all. Getting full speeds at each station. Am using it in a hybrid tree/token-ring topography and very satisified, especially with the price (back when it was $10.99). The housing is very light, so doesn't sit well on the table-top when the cables are plugged into the back. I didn't want to mount it on the tables for keeping it in place securely since their folding-types.

5 out of 5 eggsCool

Pros: Price, 8 ports.

Cons: Didn't install itself

Other Thoughts: I have an Ethernet cable running from the router on one side of the house to this switch on the other side of the house seems to work just fine and I have no overheating issues, it doesn't even get warm to the touch.
