2 out of 5 eggsI'LL LEAVE THIS UP TO YOU

Pros: - Box contains a real Samsung Note 4 tablet with a pen, charging cable, and a half manual.
- Also contains a dummy tablet that can be used as a paperweight.
- Box is durable. Packing was awesome!

Cons: - Received product today and it is out of warranty months ago. *Confirmed with Samsung.*
- Product is a launch kit. This is usually meant for stores to showcase a product.
- None of the cons mentioned above are posted on the product page.

Other Thoughts: First off, if you think this product is brand new because the seller posted it as having a 1 year warranty, think again. It may be new out of the box but it has absolutely NO Samsung warranty. Newegg will do nothing for you after their return period is over. Samsung will flat out do nothing for you.

Second, I know the definition of a scam is pretty broad these days so I'll leave the decision to buy this product up to you. However, consider this: As mentioned in the Cons section, the seller fails to notify you, the consumer, that this product has NO warranty. They list it as having a 1 year warranty. Also, they fail to mention that this product is a launch kit. This is a good indicator that the product may not be NEW and may be pre-purchased months or years ago.

I love Samsung products. Always have. This lack of a legitimate purchase is in no way a negative for Samsung. Also, Newegg will continue to be awesome as long as my refund goes through. I refuse to buy what's labeled as a NEW product and have it be...not NEW. The seller needs to put "Launch Kit" in the title and list as having NO warranty.

2 out of 5 eggsDefective screen

Pros: Mostly does as it is supposed to. Decent speed for old hardware.

Cons: When brightness is turned down to 50% or lower, the brightness is unevenly distributed. It appears that the backlight was already defective when it arrived to me. It was obviously a refurbished model, but I bought it thinking it was going to be new.

Other Thoughts: Go with a newer model. I tried to save some money with the older model but this seller is selling used tablets marketed as new.

4 out of 5 eggsSamsung Galaxy Note 2014 Quad Core 3 GB RAM 32 GB Storage 10.1" 2560 x 1600 Touchscreen Tablet PC Android 4.3 - Black

Pros: Works as advertised good tablet

Cons: Not sure if this is a con but I have never bought a Samsung smart device that didn't come with a thick manual. This did not come with one.

Other Thoughts: online pdf i guess

3 out of 5 eggsOverall good with a few kinks

Pros: Great size: plenty of room for apps, browsing, videos, etc. Makes a bit weird to type but that's given.
Sturdy build: not broken yet! But I do have a case and tempered glass screen protector
Quad Core Processor: I wish US had the octa core but it is sufficient
Stylus: Very unique and makes a great art tablet
Some of the built-in apps aren't bad
Cameras: Both are pretty decent (front and rear)
Easy to use: If you like Android systems, it's practically the big brother of the Galaxy Note
802.11ac wi-fi: Can handle 2.4GHz and 5GHz wi-fi netorks, not necessary but a luxury
Expandable memory up to 64GB via MicroSD card

Cons: Dim screen: when on auto, it sucks. I typically prefer having it all the way up. The only problem is...
Battery life: I'm having terrible problems with capacity. For example, I unplugged it from my charger and let it sit for about 1 day and 12 hours and started using it. When I started, it was at 95%. Within 10 minutes, it went from 95% to dead, as it will not power on any more. These are actual numbers. Another case is 100% to 83% over 3 days, dropped sharply with used from 83% to 57% for probably 10 min of use, idle from 57% to 49% over 1.5 days, then from 49% to dead within about 10-15 min. I have power cycled it, done the battery breaking-in procedure, and no avail. With Wi-fi and GPS on without actively using the tablet, I can get about a week on standby. Other than that, watching videos is a nightmare. This didn't start until after probably the 40-50 day mark (past NewEgg's warranty date, which is a terrible policy)
Mind you, this is on full brightness since auto isn't very good unless it's very dark. But even my Galaxy S5 can be on full brightness for more than 10 minutes so there is no excuse for the horrendous life. I haven't noticed many others having this problem but many have complained about inaccurately advertised battery life. Strangely, the OS is reported to take the majority of the battery life, not the screen.

Expensive! $450 is what I paid which isn't TOO bad but considering like the Kindle Fire goes for like $150, it's bad. I could've put this money towards a better laptop but this is decent.

I know this isn't a laptop but if you are looking for a laptop alternative, do NOT get this. It does not have USB for typical laptop functions and isn't as ergonomic for doing work. It's very good for leisure, though.

Really, the price I can look past, as I agreed to pay for it, but the battery is outrageous.

Other Thoughts: If you have the money and need a very portable laptop, do not buy this. Microsoft Surfaces run in the $800-1200 range which is pricey but you want something with a version of Windows or OS X on it, not Android or iOS, but you do what you need. As a leisure, media, drawing, shopping, video-watching, streaming device, this is great. The battery is my main and only complaint. If it were that, I'd give 5/5, but the battery really knocks it down.

5 out of 5 eggsLove The Picture

Pros: Great resolution on screen and ease of set up once you get going. Much faster than my previous android tablet and with a fairly inexpensive micro ssd card, lots of storage.

Cons: Not very good instructions for non-technical person to get started with could cause a real problem. The micro USB charging cord that comes with it is too short to be convenient. Also, the placement of the power button makes finding a sleeve to hold this tablet difficult to find. The sales person who sold me the one I bought will be getting it back tomorrow since he assured me it would work (not a Newegg employee or affiliate)

Other Thoughts: Overall a very fast tablet with great resolution that makes a reasonable alternative for those of us who still refuse to do business with Apple.

5 out of 5 eggsAn Excellent Tablet

Pros: Excellent display and bright, vivid colors.

Very good sound quality for a tablet.

Some good built-in apps.

Feels solidly built.

Quick start-up...about 28 seconds from power-on to login screen. Shut-down is also quick.

Cons: Headphone port recognizes only headphones, not headphones with a built-in microphone (like the ones that would be used with a cell phone).

The auto-brightness is overly aggressive in dimming the screen.

A quick review of the user manual doesn't really explain the included apps, forcing people to use them to figure them out. Some apps are obvious, some could use at least a short feature description and brief instructions.

The device starts up so quickly that almost all the time, apps are trying to access the network before the network module has initialized and connected the device to the network.

The built-in weather application/widget does not seem to refresh when the tablet starts up. As I write this review, in fact, my tablet has been on for a half hour and it hasn't updated yet. The "current" weather it shows is from when I last updated it (manually) 3 days go.

Other Thoughts: This tablet serves my immediate needs. I use the tablet to hold sheet music for my personal practice time, rehearsals with my bands, and performances, so the extra screen space would have been really useful. Still, the 10.1 is fast and with high enough resolution that I can see any play my music. If I had regrets, it would be that I didn't get the Note 12.2 when Newegg had them in stock.

In the end, this is a worthwhile device, and I recommend it.

Cons: I am having trouble with the display after 34 days, contacted new egg, they will not help me, contacted their reseller, will not help me, contacted Samsung and the new unit it out of warrantee. This is the worst purchase I have ever made. I have never had this experience from new egg before.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Tablet!

Pros: The screen resolution is awesome. It is very intuitive and easy to set up. I love the size of the screen. It is easy to read. It's easy to add apps, games, etc. The included air pen is very helpful and I like to be able to write on the screen and have the tablet type in what I wrote.

Cons: Samsung could reduce the number of included apps. I know I won't use many of them, but I can just ignore those I don't want.

Other Thoughts: Newegg was very prompt on delivery and they had the best price.
