5 out of 5 eggsNice package!

Pros: Extremely well made, solid feel, great specifications for its incredibly compact size. It is nice to use the familiar Windows XP. Wireless works very well, and the performance surfing the net is quite snappy. I am delighted with this purchase. And what a bargain!

Cons: The smaller than normal keyboard takes some getting used to, but hey, this is a netbook - the keyboard is a large as they could put into a 10" unit! Otherwise I am hard pressed to find any faults.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Everything.. it's just a solid netbook. I was afraid the keyboard would be too small to type on - but I'm writing this review on it with no prob

Cons: The fn key is where the control button should be. It's a kick in the teeth if you like to use hot keys.. it's ok, i'll adjust

Other Thoughts: Ubuntu loaded on this thing like a charm. Everything from wi-fi to function keys worked out of the box. Running ubuntu is alot snappier than xp, if you're comfortable w/linux

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Little Netbook

Pros: -Very Quick and great at multitasking
-Ubuntu 8.10 runs great on it and recognizes everything
-Keyboards good, just needs some getting use to

Cons: -Fan get annoying when the system is underload, comes on and off

Other Thoughts: The first thing that I did when I received the system from newegg is to install Ubuntu Intrepid. I don't like using windows any more and my dell has Ubuntu too. Anyways, everything runs great, but the fan gets annoying (comes on and off when underload). Love the little netbook though, no problems thus far and newegg was great on shipping (took only 2 days to get here)

5 out of 5 eggsSurprisingly Great

Pros: Extremely good battery life even on 3-cell 3+ hours. Increased RAM to 1.5 gb super easy. Installed Windows 7, works perfectly with all the bells and whistles. First LED screen I have seen, excellent, no off axis distortion. Very lightweight 3 lbs.

Cons: Keyboard is a tad small. Takes a while to get used to the size difference in keys. Mouse is very good compared to other netbooks, but it is still about half the height of a standard touchpad. (all trade-offs for a netbook, so not really cons, uy a notebook if that is what you want) Missing bluetooth, which is odd.

Other Thoughts: Very pleased with the S10. I transport my notebook everyday, so choosing a netbook has been a long process. I didn't want to sacrifice too much, yet still have a lightweight computer. The S10 is everything I needed. Going from a 15.4" Sony (which I loved) to this is a scary concept, but I have been very satisfied. The S10 has become my everyday computer. I even use at home instead of my Sony or desktop. Windows 7 is a definite must over the included XP. Windows 7 speeds it up and extends battery life by about 30-60 minutes. Of course who knows when the actual retail product will come out, but I will definitely buy it. The build quality is superior to the netbooks I looked at. Very much Lenovo quality. I love this netbook!

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect Netbook

Pros: This is hands down the best netbook I have ever had the pleasure of working with. The construction alone puts it well beyond the competition making it a solid, portable, all-around awesome machine. Ubuntu 8.10 installs out-of-the box and is up and running in no time. The keyboard, while still small, is large enough and after 15-30 minutes I am back to touch typing as usual. The screen is wonderfully crisp and everything you could ask for especially considering the price.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: If you are thinking about buying a netbook, I cannot think of one reason that you would consider anything other than this. A++ to Lenovo and Newegg

5 out of 5 eggsVery solid

Pros: I bought 2 of these for two of my sons 10 and 9 years old. Never boot it into Windows XP, but booted up with Ubuntu 8.10. From the live disk everything worked "out of the box" - web cam with no problems, wireless network - no problem (even without installing any of proprietary drivers), compiz-fusion - excellent! After installation everything worked as expected. Usual problem with Linux is suspend function, but not in my case! Computer goes to sleep as expected and "wakes up" with no problem at all - everything *just works*. With youtube video playing in firefox and few simple games (Mahjongg, tetris) open, the system uses 34% of RAM and about 45%-65% of CPU. Boot time is less than a minute (about 50 sec.) Suspends in 2 seconds and wakes up in 2-4 seconds. Screen brightness is very good and colors are pretty accurate.

Cons: Power cords seem to be bulky.

Other Thoughts: It is a very good computer for my kids. I does everything (and more) the moderate user needs from ultra portable computer. S10 is not the first Lenovo machine I tested. It seems that all of their computers are very well built.

5 out of 5 eggsSweet Netbook

Pros: the size and portability are great.
matte finish so i dont have to wipe finger prints all day
all functions, internet, wireless connection work good.
its not loaded up with a bunch of 30 day trials and stuff you don't need/want.

Cons: so far so good.
you get about 2.5 hrs on the battery. Lenovo does offer a 6 cell for 89 bucks.

Other Thoughts: i debated this netbook over a full size laptop. had the full size laptop for 30 days. returned it for this and have no regrets.
this netbook was bought for use around the kitchen or in the living room when your watching TV and you see that add you want to look up. it is sweet for that and everyone in the house wants to use it.

5 out of 5 eggsDesktop replacement - works perfectly!

Pros: The computer comes with multi touch, which was an unexpected bonus. Multi touch zooms in and out on the web and photos by "pinching" fingers together. Also works for scrolling. The computer is well built at the right price. I sold my linux laptop and have been using this instead and am VERY happy with it. Does everything I need it to do, works well and is fast enough for my purposes. Easy to upgrade the ram to 2 gigs if needed, bottom comes right off. Windows 7 capable, if you want to upgrade, though XP works fine for me. If you attach a usb hub with external speakers, a keyboard, and a mouse, and get an external monitor, this is a great desktop replacement. You have the option to go portable since its a netbook, so its the best of both worlds. Touchpad is very responsive. Keyboard is pretty easy to type on and doesn't require a huge learning curve.

Cons: Fan is sorta loud, not a dealbreaker though. Only 2 usb ports, but buy a usb hub and the problem is solved. Speakers aren't great, I use external ones. Right shift key takes some getting used to. Touchpad buttons are too hard and kinda loud, however, you can tap on the touchpad instead, so its not a huge deal.

Other Thoughts: Finally a netbook which combines power and portability for the right price. I doubt I'll ever buy a full sized computer again.

5 out of 5 eggsSuperior quality product

Pros: One Key Backup (Image backup built in). Sensitive wireless and easy network setup. Keyboard touch is very positive. Solid performance and easy memory upgrade. Most of all it is very professional in feel and matte finish.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Price is very low for what this Netbook does.
