3 out of 5 eggsWhere's the SIM card slot??

Pros: The design on this thing is beautiful. I don't understand where the "sharp edges" mentioned by the other reviewer are supposed to be?? I made the updates, and I was full of apps that I didn't really need. So I uninstalled them. Netflix works great.

Cons: I feel totally duped: I bought this tablet because I was under the impression that it came with a SIM card slot, that I could use to get data connectivity with the gsm provider OF MY CHOOSING. Instead I got a basic WiFi tablet. Three months later I can't find the reference anymore, but I am pretty sure the SIM card slot was mentioned in the description, otherwise I wouldn't have bought this tablet. I wouldn't have expected this from Newegg.

Oh and also, it came with a dead pixel already. Too bad I trusted Newegg so much that I didn't properly inspect the tablet before leaving for winter break with it... I would have returned otherwise.

Other Thoughts: works great, still cheaper than all other android wifi tablets (including this one if purchased directly from Lenovo), but I was misled by the description.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Value

Pros: Good specs - similar to the rest of the Android field
Low price - at the $300 mark, this thing is a steal
Solid performance - Apps run well

Cons: Needs several updates before it performs well
Has numerous programs installed that you'll never use

Other Thoughts: It's a great deal for the money, and would reallly be worth it for even more money. A friend has another tablet, and I don't see any real functional differences between the to, even though his was $150 more, and only has 16GB of built iin storage. The important thing is to make sure you've got all the udpates installed. I also had some issues after uninstalling some of the bloatware, so I reset the tablet to factory settings, and just ignore the things I don't need.

I use this to watch videos from files, YouTube, and NetFlix all without issues. The only things I can't do with this(I'm writing this review on my tablet) that I can do with a laptop is the more complex office/document work, and writing code. I suppose I could write code in text files, if I wanted to do it the hard way.

4 out of 5 eggsAmazing tablet experience... for the one that works.

Pros: -Honeycomb 3.2.1
-Tegra 2 Processor = Ultra Fast
-Battery Life
-Some* of the packaged software
-Build Quality

Cons: -Screen. The screen does not get too bright.
-Micro SD Card Slot. It is a hassled to change out the Micro SD card, it feels like the cover will break.
-Most of the prepackaged software is bloat and will cause issue with the OS. (Freezing, force closing and otherwise)
-Says that is has 32GB, I only have 24 usable.

Other Thoughts: Ultimately, I love the Android OS and therefore a Honeycomb tablets were first on my list for Christmas gifts to my wife and I. The fact that this tablet runs the latest version 3.2.1 is great. The processor plays advanced 3d games and emulators with ease. The battery life lasts ~8 hr of constant use. While some of the prepackaged software was useful (such as Docs to Go), most of it was bloat and unnecessary. The build quality is sturdy and the rubberized grip on the back is awesome! At 300$, the device can't be beat ;). Sadly, the Micro SD slot is horrific. It requires a paperclip to push it out. The internal memory is also much less than promised; 24GB as opposed to 32GB. Furthermore, the screen isn't too bright (it has great res and color though).

The worst part about all of this is that I purchased two of these tablets and one, my wife's, broke down within three days (screen went crazy then restarted the device). I will replace it with Newegg, though.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent value

Pros: The same basic features as most of the better android tablets out there today, with the dual-core Tegra 2 and a gig of RAM, front and rear cameras, etc. It runs well, and the only times I've had a slow down is when I've left a ton of apps running in the background. This is easily remedied, since the app-switcher has a little red X on each app to quickly close it. Super handy addition to the standard UI, and something that my friend ASUS doesn't have.

Cons: So far I haven't had any issues I would call a 'con'. I know some people have had issues, and others have said that it just needs to be updated to solve those issues. I make it a habit to update new tech before I really do anything with it, so I can't say how it performed out of the box. I spent maybe 30 minutes setting up my accounts and doing a few updates, and it has performed well for me.

Other Thoughts: I can understand why they are sold out, there really isn't another tablet out there with this price/performance blend. I haven't checked around to see if other retailers have a similar price, but I'd easily pay another $100 for this and still call it a good deal.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid Tablet

Pros: Price - For what you get you can't beat it.
Screen Size
Additional Buttons
Added Honeycomb features
All internal hardware
32gigs or memory and additional expandable 32 gig micro SD slot

Cons: Screen fluidity
Lacks easy access to the micro SD slot
Thickness and weight
No USB port
Proprietary power cable
back plastic panel is cheap and flimsy

Other Thoughts: Overall, what you get for the price you simply cannot beat it. Great value. That being said, there are a few things to consider to accept if you choose to buy. What I found was that most android tablets have the same internal specs, it's the extras that make or break the decision. This tablet is definately NOT an ipad, but for 1/3 of the price I was ok with that. First thing, once you open it, continually check for updates until it tells you that the tablet is completely up to date. You shouldn't have any software issues if you do this from the start. The back panel is a little flimsy and bends in, the weight and thicknes of the tablet is larger than most, but the battery life is consistently 8-8.5 hrs. I really like the orientation lock on the side and the ipad like main button on the front of the tablet. Lenovo added some extra features to honeycomb that I use every day, such as allowing you to kill apps. The speakers are good enough. I did my research and I'm happy with it

5 out of 5 eggsloving them

Pros: well priced
tech specs are about as good as anything else currently avaliable

runs smooth and fast, no lag todate

build is as good as others I have tested , owned used

micro sd slot

Cons: perhaps a little heavy

No standard USB port

tricky micro sd slot

Resale might be low due to the brand.

Other Thoughts: Compared to my touchpad, these are better.

They hold a charge all day, the kids love them. with a downloaded media the K1 is playing just about everything I have thrown at it.

I cant see a downside yet. Reviews talking about build, most either have gotten bad ones or just be very very picky, the build is as good anything else I have tried.

todate I have owned, Fire, Streak 7 , touchpad and demo tried out some others.

The K1 dollar for dollar is a winner

5 out of 5 eggsMore than expected

Pros: This probably is the best that you can get for this price.

Cons: No good manual attached.

4 out of 5 eggsImpressive for the price

Pros: Tegra2 1.0, GHz 32GB, microSD, front/back camera w/flash, GPS, Bluetooth, physical Home button, optical scroll sensor on Home button, 10 hour battery life. Support DRM playback so it officially supports NetFlix!! Using Vellamo benchmark, it OUTSCORES the Samsung Galaxy and Asus Transformer tablets by 5%.

Cons: Proprietary 30 pin connector for Charging and USB. Separate cables for USB and charger. You CANNOT CHARGE this using the USB data cable. It will only charge using the wall charger with its proprietary plug. You CANNOT use the USB Data cable AND charger at the same time. NO micro or mini USB plug! Come pre-loaded with a fair amount of bloatware, BUT you can UNINSTALL all of it except Zinio. BEWARE, every time you do an OTA update, the bloatware is REINSTALLED as part of the OS update.

Other Thoughts: At $299 you can't beat the specs of this device. You need to UPDATE it immediately out of the box via Lenovo over the air service. Mine came with Honeycomb 3.1 and I went through THREE update / reboots to eventually end up at 3.2.1. There are known performance, GPS and screen issues if you do not update. These seem to be fixed with the latest 3.2.1 release.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Nice

Pros: Nice size and good screen. Very responsive and the included apps are very cool. Don't know what all the fuss is about in some of the reviews... Some people are just too geeky and retentive... Excellent first tablet and would recommend!

Cons: No USB port but adapter is included
