4 out of 5 eggspassable table, great price

Pros: Bought this for a great after rebate price. Lenovo is a well known brand. Lots of features for the money.

Cons: weak specs - 512mb ram, single core processor. Screen has very poor viewing angles.

Other Thoughts: Prices of tablets are falling dramatically. You can get a much better tablet than this for about $100 these days. At less than $50 AR this becomes a cheap alternative that you aren't afraid to take with you or leave in the glove box. It has a lot of limitations but for web browsing, book reading and some video watching it is adequate.

4 out of 5 eggsThese came with 4.0.4 after refurbished

Pros: Not GB but came with ICS 4.0.4 just like the Best Buy versions after they are refurbished by Lenovo. Liked it a lot after a few hours of usage. It is faster than my Archos G9 with a dual core chip with the same 512 MB ram.

Cons: Screen angle in portrait mode.

Other Thoughts: The screens is clear but you have to rotate it a little to get a nice lid surface in portrait mode.

5 out of 5 eggsThis tablet is Awesome!

Pros: Super low price
ICS OS unlike the title which states Gingerbread

Cons: Hard to hold 1 handed and I've got XL hands

Other Thoughts: Other than the battery came at 0% (not removable what can you expect), I can't find one thing wrong with it. I loaded 30 apps from play without a hitch. Hasn't froze once. I played with it all day Saturday and not a hiccup!
Decent case on Fleabay for less than $9 shipped

4 out of 5 eggsLike it at this price

Pros: Low price, high resolution. Almost like new! Cannot understand why the average rating for it is so low here!!

Cons: Not ultra-fast but can't complain at this price! User guide is not much useful: it did not tell me there is a screen rotate lock on the side panel. Viewing angle is somewhat limited.

Other Thoughts: I bought it last week, when it was on sale. If the rebate holds, it would come out at $50. It did not come in the fancy package, and came only with the USB charger. Had to struggle a bit understand some of the features/limitations. Initially the screen would not rotate with the holding position. I looked up in the Android settings and the "Auto-rotate screen" option was greyed out. So I googled to find why! There was a link on Lenovo servers that mentioned to manually release the little screen lock on the side panel. Somewhow there is no mention of this lock slider in the user guide (again there was no hard copy that came in the box, but there was a softcopy on the tablet) . Another thing I noticed was that it could not play any HD videos in the YouTube app. It would simply keep buffering or give an error message: "There was a problem while playing. Touch to retry". The same videos would play in the web browser though. Updating the system and YouTube app did not help. Then I found on the web that it was not an issue specific to this tablet, rather a YouTube app bug. The trick is to disable the HD option by tapping a small icon on the left bottom corner of video. However this needs to be done for each video and there is no general app option to disable the HD mode. Initial boot was long, but subsequent boots were not bad.

4 out of 5 eggsLenovo Ideapad A1

Pros: Nice screen, fast

Cons: a little to eager to send you to the next screen; a little too difficult to get back to the last screen. Poor sound quality (but, what can you expect. I haven't yet triid it with headphones).

Other Thoughts: Just like an android smart phone with a bigger screen. All of the draw backs and all of the advantages (except making calls). If I can figure out how to tether, I may come back and give 5 stars.

2 out of 5 eggsA purchase that I now regret

Pros: came to me almost like new, takes sdcard

Cons: painfully sluggish. shutoff by itself, very very very very long boot up time.

Other Thoughts: At least I can load videos onto the sdcard and give it to entertain my young kids.

4 out of 5 eggsNot too bad

Pros: I have 2 of these (9 mo.), I upgraded them to ICS using the Lenovo ROM from their site. They are used daily for e-mail, games, web browsing, Face Book, and e-book reading and they are fine for that type of use. They are even able to watch Netflix, YouTube, and videos in H-264 format. Has expandable SD slot for an additional 32G of storage and USB port for connection to the PC. Good screen resolution for watching videos with the right video player app.

Cons: Not the fastest and short on memory with only 512K and a little power hungry unless you use an app to control the power use.

Other Thoughts: Good choice for an e-mail, or e reader. GPS works OK, the camera feature is a little week

1 out of 5 eggsLenovo A1

Pros: It's a tablet, sort of.

Cons: Lag. Battery life. Touch screen response.

Other Thoughts: This is the worst thing I think I have ever bought in the 57yrs that I've been alive. It lags, is doggy, and I want to throw it through the wall, except then I'd have to repair the wall.

It is so frustrating. I didn't expect a top of the line product with it's specs, but I did expect it to be usable. I haven't been able to anything with it except try to tweak it to get as much out of it as I can.
