1 out of 5 eggstwice faulty

Pros: video was good, 250 gig hard-drive was unbelievable in a tablet, was a fantastic theoretical piece of machinery. Operating system was nice.

Cons: hard drive although huge seemed slow, somehow I dont think it was the hard drive, the tablet was incredibly heavy probably due to the hard drive, and the balance made the really cool kickstand unstable.

Other Thoughts: the first one was returned due to Damage from Manufacturing Factory! Made right immediately by NewEgg!
the second seemed to have some sort of defect trying to load my music collection the tablet kept rebooting and playing a movie would make it reboot and stutter. I have experience with smaller Archos machines that do not have these issues. my recomendation do not buy this particular model.

1 out of 5 eggsPiece of junk

Pros: Good color, speed ok for what I want to do, HD nice so I don't have to swap out cards. Ice cream sandwich OS pretty good.

Cons: I have had nothing but problems with this tablet. I am currently on my third tab with no end in site. the 1st one had a dead screen, the 2nd froze up constantly, and now the 3rd one won't start up. Can't get ny money back so I guess I have a $400 dollar paper weight.

Other Thoughts: Newegg was great and so far Archos is doing what they need to do. I just need a tablet that works.

2 out of 5 eggsDidn't work well

Pros: Nice size screen is great, good viewing angles.

Cons: Despite the duel core processor it runs slow. It doesn't play video or audio well. Being a tablet from a company that has the tagline "Entertainment Your Way" you would expect it would play better. I believe it is the hard drive. It is nice to have so much space, but not at the expense of performance.

Other Thoughts: I have contacted Archos support, who where very helpful, and they exchanged it for me. However, I had the same problems with the new one I received. In short, I think having an actual HDD in a tablet is not a good idea, regardless of how much space it can provide. It makes it too slow and crash often.

2 out of 5 eggsVery Disappointed

Pros: Amazingly fast processor
Android 4.0.3 was just pushed to it
Optional 3G card
Perfect size and weight
Kick stand

Cons: Horribly slow internal HDD
Clunky revision of Android made by Archos
Not flashable
Battery life is under par
Options seem to be missing from the settings pages...

Other Thoughts: I was really excited to get this device, as it's currently the only Android 3.x+ device on the market (or even iOS for that matter) that has a harddrive larger than 160gb. That, plus the processor power, plus its ability to have more features than I could ask for were huge factors in me getting this. However, I was almost immediately disappointed. I gave it some time, and it only got worse and worse. As of now, the device restarts completely at random, apps that worked fine at first will now crash for no reason, the harddrive is a HUGE bottleneck on the system, so you don't even get to feel the processors true speed. I mean come on, even laptops nowadays have 7200rpm drives... Archos couldn't put something faster than 5400? If even that. It literally takes about 10 seconds to start playing a song after I select it. I would honestly rather deal with swapping out SD cards in my phone than deal with the headache this is giving me. I'm giving it one more week before I RMA this waste of $$.

1 out of 5 eggsbad, customer service is horible, never buying from new again

Pros: everything it worked like advertised,

Cons: it says it has blue tooth but i cant seem to get it to work, and when it first got to me it was doa, the screen was all white and nothing would load, when i contacted newegg and they told me that i didnt know anything and that it was working right? i told them i cant even do anything with it, they said well u must have taken it apart, and finally after spending 3 hours on the phone i talked to a supervisor and the issued and rma for it

Other Thoughts: it would have been a nice tablet if it wasnt doa

5 out of 5 eggsCouldn't be happier

Pros: 250gb HD!!!!, android, kick stand, GPS, sensors.

Cons: 512 ram not what I was hoping for.

Other Thoughts: I'm using it now. Couldn't be more pleased. I've had to restart at times. But archos is releasing updates often enough to take care of the bugs. Can't wait for ICS. And I Love the HD!! My buddies complain they don't have room to try some app, I don't know what their talking about.

4 out of 5 eggsWas a short visit

Pros: 250gb. In a tablet. Its a portable RedBox. Screen was quite nice, good resolution and viewing angles, better than my Acer A100. No locked bootloaders or other foolishness. Kickstand is very handy. Good battery life. 4:3 aspect is better for web browsing that 16:9, especially in this size class.

Cons: 2 pixels stuck on bright green out of the box. That's REALLY annoying. Kinda heavy for a 7-8 inch tablet, but it DOES have a hard drive in it. 512mb RAM is really stingy for a Honeycomb tablet, for about the same price, my A100 has 1gb. RAM is cheap Archos. Really.

Other Thoughts: I returned it due to the stuck pixels, I and getting an exchange, not a refund. From the day of playing with it, I still like it, with a good screen I will be fine. The low RAM seemed to not be an issue, but I didn't get a chance to widget it up and really abuse it.
