4 out of 5 eggsGood Sound In A Little Package

Pros: Good sound quality from the highs to mid-range. Easy bluetooth pairing. Nice that it has the option to connect via attached cord to devices with 3.5mm headphone jack. Long battery life compared to similar units of this size. Enough amplification to easily hear it across a room.

Cons: The volume is controlled entirely from the device playing the music. This can be a negative if you are using bluetooth and some distance away from the streaming device (Phone). The cord is attached but only a couple inches long. Having a jack on the device to plug in a longer cord would have been better IMHO.

Other Thoughts: I have gotten more than 5 hours of continuous music streaming via the bluetooth connection with this speaker. A competing brand I purchased runs out of power in less than 1 hour. Reviewers who are critical of it's low-end bass audio need to remember it is a pocket-sized speaker; you should not expect it to shake the room.

2 out of 5 eggsDisapointing

Pros: Good Bluetooth functionality... has a nifty direct connect audio cable built in that stores nicely. My wife thinks it's cute.

Cons: I agree with "Hammer"... this thing is quiet and can't go past about 75% of maximum volume without distorting. This speaker would be fine in a quiet environment where you didn’t want to disturb your neighbor, but for get the idea of using this on a picnic table or at the beach. It’s nowhere near loud enough.

I bought this speaker because I was excited to have something like the $10 “bomb speaker” that they sell at Wally world. That speaker is not Bluetooth and I wanted something that I didn’t necessarily have to connect directly to my phone. By comparison, the sound of the APS02F is pretty tragic. Again, I’m not expecting Boston acoustic. I just figured it should sound at least as good as the generic Chinese version. Not even close.

Another problem is that the battery life is pretty thin. I’ve tried a couple of times and I’m getting something like 2 ½ hours before a completely runs out of steam.

At $10.00 this speaker is probably worth the money as long as you understand that its limitations. By the time you get to the list price of 35, there are plenty of speakers that can do better than this. As far as the other reviews here that say the speaker blows away the competition all I can say is the competition must be absolutely horrible.

Other Thoughts: The only thing that makes this speaker worth even $10.00 is that it connects to mind Bluetooth devices well and seems to have a good range. One thing they didn’t scrimp on was the Bluetooth functionality. Having the freedom to pick up your phone or tablet while the speaker stays in one place is definitely worth something, I just want a slightly better quality speaker.

4 out of 5 eggsOK, for sale price

Pros: BT audio receiver for sale price... incredible! BT paired easily enough for me. Sound is OK, but distorts at higher volume levels. Best sound so far is semi-disassembled in free-space (no back on speaker, and suspended in the air). Half-space gives a little more base (no back on speaker, and sitting perpendicular against a flat surface).

Cons: Some of the distortion at higher levels could be vibration of internal components, as there are many, and they're not well damped. The internal battery is 3.7V lithium, so you just can't expect much power from such a system.

Other Thoughts: I may hack this to make a cheap BT receiver for input to other audio systems.

2 out of 5 eggsGood concept but tiny sound

Pros: Tiny. Much smaller than I expected. BT wireless sound. Works fine with iPhone.

Cons: Sound quality sucks beyond 3/4 Vol setting.

Other Thoughts: Decent value for what I paid ($10). I would not recommend at $15 or higher (esp at the normal price of $30). There are better values to be had with much, much better sound quality.

1 out of 5 eggsdoes not sound good when loud

Pros: small, attractive, bluetooth connected without problems, has an optional 3.5 chord to connect directly into a device

Cons: Sound is terrible when playing music loud through bluetooth. Connected directly with a cable it is fine. cable that comes with the speaker is very short and nicely tucked away.

Other Thoughts: I connected this to my iPad 2. Sound is great till about 75%, but any louder and the bass gets noisy. This only happens when using bluetooth. I will be returning the product.

5 out of 5 eggsSuperb

Pros: Small, lightweight, easily paired with my htc titan II

Cons: Can't daisy chain them with other speakers.

Other Thoughts: For the price I paid (10$) this is a fantastic speaker. I bought this and the JBL on tour portable speaker and there is no comparison. The aluratek is heads and shoulders above it in terms of sound and it has Bluetooth to boot. I was looking for a small speaker to listen to music while I shower and this has ample volume to do so.
