5 out of 5 eggsHands Free Again

Pros: Bought for an old, old RCA tv with no known codes.. I had another programable remote that was failing. Remote learned codes fine. Liked that I can keep the configuration on my computer to be able to reprogram with battery change. Seems to be a solid product and bought as refurbished.

Cons: Little bit of a learning curve... instructions not great but doable.

5 out of 5 eggsHarmony Universal remote

Pros: Great choice of devices, easy to program, works great.
After programming with my laptop it was as easy as using original remotes. For $9.99 this was a steal.

Cons: This model only supports three devices.

Other Thoughts: I wish I had bought the more expensive model that supports more devices. I wanted this one to make sure it worked as described, well it does.

1 out of 5 eggsBuyer beware

Pros: Looked good, clean, complete.

Cons: Didn't work out of the box.
Took forever to get here. It went through 3 different post carriers to get from California to Oregon.

Other Thoughts: With fresh batteries the device selection buttons just flash in unison every few seconds over and over like it is stuck in some weird mode. I was able to connect it to myharmony.com and set it up, but now that is finished the remote is just a flashy light toy with no other use.

Did some research and found that flashing device lights usually mean it is in safe mode and that you can take it out of safe mode by removing the batteries and holding down the 2 button while replacing the batteries. This did not solve the problem.

Going to be calling NewEgg on this one as return shipping will cost more than just ordering a replacement.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat remote

Pros: This is a great remote, so far it has been able to control every device I set it up with. My Hitachi TV, my Comcast cable box, my Ceton Echo, my Samsung TV, my Comcast cable DVR, & my Yamaha stereo.

Easy to set up and program

Cons: Have to connect to myharmony.com to program, would be nice if the installer was downloadable.

Can't have multiple profiles per remote to make it easy to switch back and forth.

Other Thoughts: I liked it so much I bought a second one!

2 out of 5 eggsFine while it lasts.

Pros: Easy set up. Good database of prduct codes.

Cons: Shouldn't die right ater warrentee runs out.

Other Thoughts: I was very disapointed that this died so quickly. I don't watch much TV, so it had a gentle life. Customer service was polite but unmoved by the remotes quick demise. Bought another brand as a replacement.

1 out of 5 eggsAWFUL product

Pros: None.

Cons: Took over an hour to figure out you need to go to myharmony.com to install the dang device.

Does not register ANY of the commands from my DirecTV remote.

Will not turn on my TV.

Overpriced paperweight.

Other Thoughts: Completely useless product. Do yourself a favor and skip this one completely.

3 out of 5 eggsGets the job done

Pros: 300 was same price and is a bit better. Use the 300 in the LR and the 200 in the BR - but are interchangeable. Was able to program 300 features into the 200.

Cons: Thought it would reduce controllers from 3 to 1 but wife cannot easily adjust to the logic of controller multiple devices from one gadget. So, we have gone from 3 controllers to 4.
Setup is not dificult but requires serious attention and is a bit time consuming. Recommend that you avoid Dewars or Wild Turkey 101 which likely make the task much more dificult.

Other Thoughts: Works on Malaysian ASTRO satellite and fiber optic HD boxes, WD HDTV Live, and everything else in the house except for the Trane split AC unit

5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

Pros: Purchased two of these to control two Windows Media Center HTPCs. Logged onto Logitech, downloaded the WMC SE data into the remote and all worked well. I have been using Logitech products for well over a decade and have been nothing but happy. Customer service is first rate, if a product develops a problem it gets replaced pronto. I expect years of great performance from the two remotes I purchased.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I had to add the "skip back" button to the remote manually. The WMC SE software does not include this as part of the defined key operations. Fortunately I had an old remote that had this feature. Using the online Logitech tools to reprogram a key was simple and worked the first time. It would be nice if Logitech added this as a featured key.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat value on a universal remote

Pros: * Low price ($9.99 on sale)
* Large database of supported devices (myharmony.com)
* Controls 3 devices (tested with 42" LG 42LD450 TV, Sony Blu-ray BDP-S580 and Cisco DTA50 cable box)
* USB interface for programming remote (PC required)
* Button commands can be changed

Cons: * A separate myharmony.com account (and email address) is required for each remote control. A single account should be able to program multiple remotes.

Other Thoughts: Consider the Harmony 300 if you need to control 4 devices.

5 out of 5 eggsLogitech made it all right!

Pros: Almost as good as the Harmony 300.

Cons: None now.

Other Thoughts: Re: my original review of 4/9/2012; after exhausting all the tech support and forum help on Logitech's Harmony support site, I decided to make a warranty claim.

The Logitech support guy asked me to go through the battery removal / reset / resync dance one more time. When that didn't work, he submitted an RMA claim, and I had a BRAND NEW, in the retail blister pack, Harmony 200 shipped to me at no cost.

I didn't have to return the defective refurbished unit either; just tossed it in the trash.

The new unit works with my original login and component selections and settings. All I had to do was connect it to the PC and sync it. Works perfectly! Way to go, Logitech!
