3 out of 5 eggsOK, just not what I expected!

Pros: Works out of the box and comes with 1 IR blaster

Cons: Says in the description AND ON THE BOX that it can control your TV (Power + Volume) - This is NOT true. There is another model (haven't found it yet) that has 2 power buttons on it. It also has learning functions to learn and control your TV, but that is NOT this one!

Other Thoughts: Could have saved some cash and just bought a basic MCE remote.

4 out of 5 eggsgreat for what it is

Pros: Great for windows Media selections! A simple remote, not much to say about it, worked with win 7 with no driver problems.

Cons: Wished it would have some type of rolling wheel on the remote so that you can scroll though lists faster, instead you have to use the arrow keys that make you push everytime to make the menu move, cant just hold down the directional buttons to move faster.

5 out of 5 eggsA must have for a Media Center PC

Pros: Works on Windows 7 right out of the box. Range is great. The remote has all the buttons a person could use. Programming is easy. Stylish and looks like a regular remote. Compliments my Media Center setup which is as close to a regular set-top-box DVR as it gets. Guest shouldn't notice much difference or have any dificulty working the tv. I don't know how I managed before the remote.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: There isn't a separate TV button, but not the end of the world. I wish it was back lit to see the buttons in the dark.

4 out of 5 eggsEasy setup and excelent value

Pros: Good feeling in hands even though it's lightweight; second channel for controlling TV; worked right away with MMC; also controls VLC and most popular players (for media controls, not for navigating menus : the later is available in MMC or other « theater mode » media software like PowerDVD)

Cons: 1- Misleading feature. It says « Power: your Media Center PC and / or TV with our remote control »... Wel that's just nor true : it only activates hibernation (assuming your OS is setup with at least 1.5xRAM for swap drive so it can get into hibernation), or wake the PC from it. I didn't try powering the TV yet.
2- Does not work with PowerDVD for whatching Blue Ray movies, unless you are in theater mode (unusable if you read movie files from your PC or external drive via PowerDVD).

Other Thoughts: Overall I was impressed : "plug & go" without any hassle. Using Windows 7 64bits. -1 egg for misleading feature (read "cons")

2 out of 5 eggsRemote will not go into learning mode!

Pros: Fits nice in hard, light weight, etc.

Cons: Keyboard layout could be better. WMC buttons should be closer to the navigation buttons. Unable to get the remote to go into learning mode.

Other Thoughts: Support is difficult to reach

4 out of 5 eggsWorked Great for a Year and a Half

Pros: Works well, easy to configure in Event Ghost for XBMC, Hulu control.

Cons: Died after a year and a half. The remote LED still lights up like it is sending a signal, but it's not picked up by the ir receiver which does pick up my TV remote so I know the ir receiver is working.

Other Thoughts: For the price a year and a half still makes it a pretty good value, especially seeing as it died after my son dropped it.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes what it needs to do...

Pros: Works the way it's advertised. Comes with Batteries and a USB IR receiver. I purchased the Hauppauge 2250 TV Tuner Card with Windows Media Center Remote and had nothing but issues with the bad receiver and uncooperative remote. This Product helped rectify all those issues

Cons: None to Date

Other Thoughts: It's a very light-feeling product. Might feel cheap to some but I haven't had any issues with it...

5 out of 5 eggsPlug and Play with XBMC

Pros: Plug and Play with XBMC. All buttons work well.

Cons: Feels very light.

Other Thoughts: Works plug and play with XBMC and windows media center. More configuration and the software is required to get it to control your TV.

It works like this:

Remote control-> USB IR receiver box

This is all you need for plug and play.

To get it to work with your TV you need to plug in the included IR transmitter (diode attached to long cable) into the black USB receiver box and then run the cable to the IR receiver area of your TV/VCR/cable box. This uses the software to transmit the signal to your TV.

In other words, the computer must be on to control your TV with this.

Universal function
Remote->IR receiver box(black USB box)-> computer (software)->IR receiver box-> IR diode (long cord)->TV
