4 out of 5 eggsGreat while it lasted, lol!

Pros: Worked fantastically for the first 4-6 months.
Netflix and other apps worked perfectly.
Easy to setup.
Really slim, fits easily just about anywhere.

Cons: Stopped playing blu-ray discs but would still play DVD's after about 6 months into owning it, however it still streams to this day like a champ!

Other Thoughts: When I bought it, it was on a deep discount. Whatever it actually was it was WAY cheaper at the time like almost half off so I bought it on impulse. To be honest I would recommend it IF it is on sale, otherwise you might end up with just a streaming player that happens to play DVD's

4 out of 5 eggsExcellent, with some little issues

Pros: It plays Blu-Rays, it plays DVDs, it plays AVIs, it plays MKVs. It's pretty sleek, pretty small, and pretty cheap. All in all, a good buy for home entertainment.

Cons: The USB input CAN NOT HANDLE MORE THAN 1 TB. Even if you partition a 2 TB drive down to 1, it won't handle it. It will, on the other hand, function perfectly with flash drives, external hard drives, and internal hard drives with a USB adapter.
It takes a minute to start up, showing you its initial menu before you can access any of the actual video playback stuff.
There are some issues with file type support for some video encoding methods, but with a good re-encoder program, you can get it to behave pretty well.
It also seems to like to enable Subtitles on video files from USB devices, so you often have to turn off the subtitles manually at the beginning of any file you play.

Other Thoughts: I haven't used any of the wireless features aside from the Firmware Update tool, but that was smooth and easy to do for the one update that's been available so far. Unfortunately, you can't remove items from the initial menu, so I always get those Netflix and Vudu icons on the home menu even when they're "disabled".

The scaling quality is terrific, with no pixelation from even the crummiest of formats.

4 out of 5 eggsA standard Blu-ray player

Pros: It runs Blu-ray discs well. It doesn't have an update monthly. The size is great (about 4 Blu-ray cases, 2 high by two wide).

Cons: Other features are meh. Loading time on Blu-rays is a bit excessive.

Other Thoughts: It's a good entry level Blu-ray player. The meatiest portion, playing discs, is very serviceable. Other features, including the UI, aren't as friendly as they could be.

All of that said, if you're using a DVD player now, this is an excellent replacement. The biggest selling point has to be the price and size.

If you're looking for a new streaming device/Blu-ray player/internet connected device at this price point you will be disappointed (by any offering I've ever seen). If you want 1080p movies from a Blu-ray, you can't go wrong with this player.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Bluray player for the money!

Pros: Everything!

Cons: No Hulu plus or Pandora app.

Other Thoughts: This is a much better quality player than my Sony BD player. My Sony BD player is a pain to turn off, I either have to turn off the TV first and then shut off the BD player or switch activity on my TV and turn it off, but this BD player has no issues.

5 out of 5 eggsCheap, Cheap, Cheap

Pros: Inexpensive, compact BD player. We stream Netflix and play DVD and BD. It all works fine. It isn't a high-end box, but the image quality is great. Black levels are very good. Sound quality is great.

There are two connectors on the back: Power and HDMI. The only way to connect a network is wirelessly. Fortunately, wireless reception is good where we have this thing set up, so no problems there. Have not tried all the features (USB, other online services).

The setup menu is fairly limited, but adequate to get picture and sound to HDMI TV.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This replaced a Panasonic BD player that kept blanking out. HDMI seemed to be intermittent. So far, this device from the Korean Consumer electronics giant, LG (Lucky-Goldstar) just works.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat buy!

Pros: Works for playing blue ray movies and also from my external HDD through usb.
Haven't tested the wireless for netflix and i probably won't as i didn't get it for that option.
Which is why i only gave it 4 eggs, i am not fully utilizing the product.
As always, fast shipping! Thanks newegg.

Cons: None!

1 out of 5 eggsBuggy Netflix firmware

Pros: Can play Blu-Ray disks.

Cons: Crashes when streaming Netflix. Seems like a memory leak in the firmware, exhausting the buffer. LG and Netflix both blame each other.

Other Thoughts: DO NOT BUY THIS if you intend to stream Netflix.
Otherwise it's fine as a disc player.
