5 out of 5 eggsVery useful

Pros: Does what is advertised. Transmits low def (480i) video and stereo sound through RCA in, as well as transmits infrared relay to control the home's main cable box from a different room.

Cons: Virtually none. I plugged in the cables and it instantly worked. I was concerned that I would have noise from my 2.4 ghz wireless LAN, but the default channel A worked from the moment I plugged it in. There was some wireless noise (popping, buzz) when transmitting from our main floor family room through the floor to the basement corner of our house.

Other Thoughts: I set this up to connect my main entertainment center 46" plasma with hi-def Direct TV w/DVR to an adjacent room with a 26" lcd TV so that my wife could watch TV while she worked out. It's great. No cables to run, and she can control the DVR box & watch previously recorded shows, all without stepping off the treadmill. No need to purchase a costly second DVR box.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat For Apartment

Pros: This is really great for apartments where your not allowed to feed cable into a room that doesn't have it. Really simple setup. Ok quality for what I needed...much better than putting an antenna on it. Wall mountable. Wireless remote system works well.

Cons: Only con I have was the fact that it didnt have a coax on the sending device. Made me almost not get it. Decided to give it a try anyways and realized that it was just simpler to hook it up to my vcr anyways and that solved all problems. Plus wireless remote system worked for the vcr and comcast cable box.

Other Thoughts: Go to best buy, pay the extra best buy fee of some 50 bucks or so....really never make any "final" purchases at best buy (this coming from a former worker.....dont ask)...if you like it return it and buy it on here for much cheaper, if you dont like it just return it that day no problem.

2 out of 5 eggsDidn't have the connectors I needed

Pros: Small, not TOO ugly, and it has a built in IR repeater which I hadn't realized, comes with almost all wires needed to plug it in and go

Cons: Didn't fit what I needed, I needed coaxial f-connectors on either BOTH ends or on just the transmitter end, but this set has it only on the receiver side. Couldn't give it one egg since I never even got to try it, but this did not work out the way I intended.

Other Thoughts: PAY VERY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE RETURN POLICY, especially if it says "NON REFUNDABLE".... really?? Very disappointing to see, and VERY discouraging.

1 out of 5 eggsDidn't work for me

Pros: Concept

Cons: Tremendous popping and interference. Used for undercab kitchen LCD and pictured seemed good if it weren't for the constant popping and static. Returning to retailer today.

Other Thoughts: I tried this on various sources and TV's and got the same results. I fear that if the unit is not defective, there is too much 2.4 intereference in the vacinity. If you are like me where almost everything is wireless, proceed with caution. Just my 2-cents.

2 out of 5 eggsWeak signal

Pros: Remote control, didn't have to run wires.

Cons: Weak signal. Struggles sending signal from living room to bedroom on same floor of house.

3 out of 5 eggsokay for karaoke

Pros: I use these for karaoke when I might otherwise have to run cables to televisions, creating a trip hazard or just extra work for me vs using the wireless unit.

Cons: I wouldn't watch a movie on these things. Even across a 15 foot distance in my home, there is too much 2.4GHz noise to get a good quality picture on any of the 4 available channels on these devices, and I do not even pick up 802.11 APs from any of my neighbors.
Noise prevents me from being able to use them in some situations, but when they work, the reduction in setup time & cable mess is worth it.

2 out of 5 eggsFM Radio Quality

Pros: Wouldn't be too bad for use in transmitting a signal from your stereo system inside to speakers outside (for a party, for instance)

Cons: Constant line noise, various pops, clicks, and the general stuff you're used to from a distant FM station. No matter how close you are, you're going to get line noise.

Other Thoughts: For a system playing music at a party or something like that it makes sense. For computer speakers or anything that stays on constantly near you, it's enough to drive you batty!

4 out of 5 eggsNo Cables

Pros: This is a great device, if you do not want to run cable from room to room. It works well, once you play around and figure out the optimal settings.

Cons: The range listed is only true if you do not have anything blocking the signal. i.e. walls, furniture.
The price was high, but supersedes having to fish cable.

Other Thoughts: I am running from a dual DVR. The signal is being sent through 2 plaster walls, a hallway and a dresser. The distance totaling about 48 feet.
