TATUNG TAC-11KN(UL) Silver Stainless Steel 5 Cups (Uncooked)/10 Cups (Cooked) Rice Cooker

Pros: This item arrived less than 48 hours after I ordered it! Saved $35 over A...... company! Looks and feel durable, sturdy, and attractive. Made brown rice twice in it and turned out perfect! Actually easy to use and ours is in English. To make the brown rice you simply add another cupful (theirs) to the cooking bowl (not the innner rice bowl). The steaming way of cooking makes perfect brown rice. It was fluffy and did not clump together (nor did it taste chewy). It did not stick to the pan at all. It also was very clean (Im used to my cooker making a mess) and only left a few drops of water. This cooker can also steam vegetables and other dishes, tho I have not personally tried that yet (but I will soon!). Overall, a wonderful cooker and love that it is all stainless steel.

Cons: None.

Pros: It has indirect heating (internal pot set into a boiling water bath). It cooks the rice light and fluffy.

Cons: No temprature control. It tends to cook off the external heating water before the rice inside the inner pot is fully cooked. I've had to put extra heating water in the pot to get it to work right.

Pros: My family used Panasonic rice cooker with teflon. We do not like possible poison being eaten in body everyday and that is why to buy this steamer. For this cooker, rice would be cooked by stream, all in stainless steel. I have never got the rice stick onto the bottom because they are steamed. My son is happy the taste of rice from this cooker (he may know non-posion). Highly recommend this cooker to replace the teflon.

Other Thoughts: Do not forget to add water into the main heat pot. I am still figure it out the right level of water to add on. Overall, it is a good rice cooker. My firend has been using the same model for long time. $99 for me with free ship.

Pros: All Stainless Steel. Rice comes out perfect every time. I can reheat my rice, steam vegetables, buns, or reheat any kind of foods in this thing! Love it! Best thing is my rice doesn't stick to the bottom of the pot. It's the old fashion way of heating things, versus the microwave. It is quick, fast, and safe to use. You can set this thing and forget it.

Cons: The wire is attached to the pot, so when I wash the outer pot, I have to be careful not to get the wire wet (while the wire and plug dangles outside of my sink). I also have to be careful not to get the control panel. Not a big deal. I just have to be careful when I wash the outer pot.

Other Thoughts: Great rice cooker. The way it works is a double boiler, which doesn't directly heat the rice pot but instead heats it with steam from boiled water below it. This lets the rice come out nice and fluffy, without ever sticking to the bottom.

Pros: This is the 2nd Tatung stainless steel rice cooker I have. I bought the 2nd one for my husband's office use.

Tatung rice cooker lasts long and seldom has problem.
I use it for cooking, steaming, re-heating food very often,
and it is the replacement for microwave use in my house.
I have another Zojirushi rice cooker for cooking rice.

Other Thoughts: I am from the country where this rice cooker generated, Taiwan. I have been using this brand for over ten years and love it. I use it to cook different kinds of food including rice (of course), chicken soup, cakes (believe or not), and reheat the food.

Pros: This is an indirect heat cooker - means that it is like a double-boiler, you need to add water inside the pot and also outside the pot. Very healthy way of cooking rice, fully stainless steel product - high quality steel. The water outside dries out by the time the rice is cooked... the pot needs to be left for about 15 minutes for self-cooking action to get the perfect rice. Go to the Tatung website and download the recipes for steamed rice with bamboo shoots & mushrooms - it is delicious!! I am never going back to nonstick pots - it's not safe for health reasons.

Cons: I wished the additional external steamer is sold together with the rice cooker, unfortunately not at this time.

Pros: its good the lining of the cooker is made of stainless steel.

Cons: It broke less than a month. The rice can be never cooked well.
